Probably the only pick I‘ll be able to make until tonight….

One of the best RHP in history and maybe the best in the last 15 years.

Justin Verlander.

I would have taken Gibson who may have been a better hitter than Ruth and I like Verlander, because he's a former Tiger and my grandmother used to take me to the 1970s Tigers. I'll settle for what I consider the best righty OF and righty RP available. @sarge88

1B Miguel Cabrera

Consistent, productive, at times dominating middle of the order anchor.

A rare Triple Crown Winner, 2x MVP.

I was gonna take Thomas and Kershaw. I'll settle for a lefty OF who did not tank in the World Series and the best active righty SP. Like Eddie Van Halen and this SP's ancestors, my grandfather immigrated from Holland. @sarge88

No worries. My 1B was RotY, a 12x AS, won the 1989 WS, won a GG, and is a 3x SS. My SP is widely considered one of the top dozen SP all-time. @sarge88

Hank Greenberg, 1B - 2 MVPs, 5x AS, top 25 in OPS+, my dad's favorite player, a Tiger, and he and Koufax are arguably the 2 best Jewish players.

Hoyt Wilhelm, RP - 2 ERA titles, 8x AS, top 3 in RP JAWS, knuckler. I like my post. ;) @sarge88

Not bad for a guy who will hit 5th in my lineup.

I like the pick and SBs. He's on my list. I'm starting to question SBs' value though, because the player who is 2nd in SBs hit .293, and is only 405th in bWAR.

I think the value is in the guys with a high success rate.

I mean if you can turn 85% or more of your singles or walks into doubles, it’s got to be a good thing.
