Tyce goal.
Does he look capable of signing following the season or is he likely to return to school?
Tyce goal.
I thought he was ready to turn pro last year. NJ likely signs him.Does he look capable of signing following the season or is he likely to return to school?
According to Cap Friendly we have 45/50 contracts so we have 5 open slots for NCAA/Euro free agents/assorted whatnots.NJ has some nice college players wh0 may sign following this season.
- Moynihan has 15 points in 16 games this season, he may go back for a Junior season to develop a little more offense to his game. At this point he is a strong candidate to be a 3rd/4th line winger at the NHL level.
- Talvitie has had two subpar seasons offensively since coming out of a cannon his first year in NA prior to knee surgery. His upside seems to be 3rd/4th line winger if his speed can improve.
- Thompson has more upside than the two above him. On a down year for Providence (lots of players moved on) he has backed up his tremendous Sophomore season with a respectable Junior season. Middle 6 upside, has an NHL shot.
I would have to think two will get signed and provide some nice depth at the AHL level. None are world beaters however there is the off chance that Tyce dominated the AHL (based on his sophomore season).

Also according to Cap Friendly we only keep Christoph Bertschy’s signing rights until his 27th birthday and his special day is coming right up on April 5th. We got Bertschy’s signing rights, as everyone will surely recall, in the critical 2018 TDL Viktor Lööv deal with the Wild. Fitz better get on that.*
Viktor Lööv returned to the organization after existing during Albany Devils 2016-17 playoff run and memorably played 36 games in Binghamton, helping them come in 5th and not qualify for the playoffs.
*I’m kidding in case anyone didn’t know so Fitz does not need to get right on that.
Moynihan and Thompson swapped 1RW and 2RW positions with Moynihan moving up and Thompson down for the last couple of games.Missed the game but any thoughts on Tyce or Monahan?
A bit of a coincidence that Thompson's brother was in New Jersey playing for the Sabres on Tuesday night.
Moynihan is one of our most intriguing prospects, mostly because his numbers might not blow you away but his intangibles are through the roof. This kid is beloved by every and anyone who has known him.
When he took a cheap shot in WJCs, it looked like all of Team USA wanted to bolt from the bench to get revenge.
Omission of Hellickson is noticeable.very interesting
I wonder if Fitz dropped that as a way to entice them to sign early.very interesting
It is kind of funny that since all that talk about Mercer having a slightly disappointing start to the year (not agreeing with it or not, just saying it happened) he's been putting up fantastic numbers. Just went back to check, 10 points in 9 games and he's had 19 in his last 10 - assuming he doesn't get another point today which he very well could.
