Last year's rankings for comparisons (and what I'm referencing for "change of last year"): Prospect Info: - 2020 Los Angeles Kings Prospect Rankings #40

Here are the rules I'll be following:

- I won't vote unless it's a tie breaker. So there should never be an "overtime" or tie to keep this going.
- the crieteria for prospects is straightforward: they have to be eligible to win the calder, and the Kings must own the player's rights, whether it's through the draft or an SPC (so AHL-only contracts don't count, but a player like Tkachev counts, since he is Calder-eligible)
- use whatever criteria you wish for the next best available. Raw skill? Upside? NHL readiness? Progress since drafted? Astrological Sign?

Nobody left to nominate!

At least 20 deep of players that may play in the NHL, (and #22 Strand has) makes me appreciate Yannetti getting aggressive and dealing off 4 (or more? not going to look it up) picks, to
target the player he wanted. There are just so many quality prospects. To get the 4 he wanted in: Clarke, Pinelli, Helenius and Kirsanov, those are 4 players that will all play in the NHL.
(unless Kirsanov stays in KHL) This will be the first time that all drafted players will play in the NHL that I know of. (It appears as this will probably happen)

I know that we get excited about to prospect we drafted. But history states a majority of them will fail to reach expectations or even play in the NHL. As fans I know were all fans but i would be curious to see our list to see how they pan out

I dug up an old forum prospect rankings just for fun. This is the 2015 one:

#5 Derek Forbort (54.17% of votes)
#6 Michael Mersch (55.56% of votes)
#7 Alex Lintuniemi (22.92% of votes)

#9 Jonny Brodzinski (29.27% of votes)
#10 Kevin Gravel (32.50% of votes)(54.10% of votes in a tiebreaker)
#11 Patrik Bartosak (55.77% of votes)
#12 Alexander Dergachyov (35.14% of votes)

A lot of borderline NHL players but not much quality. Cernak probably the best one in retrospect but ends up being the one traded.

Well no wonder we weren't any good after the cup runs, Kempe was the only prospect that has turned out well for us. I remember being really high on Zykov at the time.

The same thing was said about Lauri Tukonen & Pavel Rosa.

Tempered expectations are the best expectations.

Not that I disagree, but has anyone really hinted at unrealistic expectations?

Do we expect the turnout of a prospect pool that has three top-10 picks to have an average rate of success?

I.E.
Mistele was interesting, big gritty PWF type, but he just oddly regressed/flatlined every year instead of ever growing his game.
