Benning #18
Montembeault #19
Carlsson #20
Lukashevich #21

First and foremost, he's played in all 27 of Charlotte's games this year in the AHL. That was his biggest nothing against him this season, he couldn't stay healthy. Well he hasn't missed the game yet.
He's been performing, especially lately with five points in his last five games. He has 19 points in the 27 games this year.
He had a decent development Camp. He has an outside shot of making the team next year I think, but ultimately I expect him in the AHL at least another season.

Yep: he's been good in the AHL but hasn't necessarily broken down the gates to the NHL. We might have a couple of winger spots free next year, but I think we'll have a lot available in 2023-2024. (Swaggy, Duclair, and Reino are only signed wingers for that season...)

I think he's projecting to be a good middle six forwards!

what's your top 10 look like now, heading into the draft?

love schwindt, really solid hockey player
Not great looking. Gave up a few prospects and graduated our A+s. Probably something like:
(1) Samso
(2) Deni
(3) Sourdif

Solid but lacking high-end skill
(4) Nause
(5) Schwindt

Missing something crucial: size or speed
(6) Michael Benning
(7) Hutsko
(8) Hepo

Guys like Gildon and Ludvig took a step back; Kiersted and Priskie didn't take step forwards at their age. Hepo

With his lack of progress since the draft, Denisenko at n.2 tells you everything about the state of our prospect group. And I liked Denisenko.

1 Mackie Samoskevich
2 Justin Sourdif
3 Yegor Korshkov
4 Evan Nause
5 Grigori Denisenko
6 Cole Schwindt
7 Aleksi Heponiemi
8 Logan Hutsko
9 John Ludvig
10 Kirill Gerasimyuk
HM: Matt Kiersted, Mike Benning

Ludvig could jump up several spots next season though if he plays well. He has the potential. He's just missed basically a whole year of development because of an injury, and the season before that he didn't play many AHL games either. He barely has any pro experience, while others of his age group already have two seasons under their belt.

Our prospect pool is thread bare...and it's not getting much better with only one pick in the top two rounds for next three years. Really hoping there are some good college free agents that we may be able to attract. The lack of good ELCs could really bite us down the road.

I don’t think Yegor is a prospect?

Why wouldn't he be?
My sense is that he was just a name thrown in instead of future considerations; I haven’t seen any evidence that he is actually in the panthers cards…I don’t even think Zito said anything about him after the trade

He did say a little something about him, it was on Panthers website. Regardless of that though, he's still 25 and he's played 1 NHL game, he's definitely a prospect.
