Spurs are finding it so hard to build play because they only have 1 pivot so Hojbjerg, Skipp and Alli have to roam to receive to create angles to play in. It's all very uncoordinated. Alli has been a big liability in that sense because he's not a passer at all. A single pivot against a high press can work if the midfield 3 are all second phase orientated and the fullbacks are good at progressing play but Alli isnt second phase orientated and Tanganga is basically a CB at fullback.

Drive the ball that hard up the field just to not even get a shot attempt.

Just watched the highlights of Newcastle - West Ham, great hunger by Souček on that penalty follow-up, honestly almost looked like having it stopped was the plan all along

Ridiculous not to give a yellow on that counter to Mahrez. He absolutely tried to rugby tackle the Spurs player, but because he failed there's no card given out despite that fact that he slowed the counter up enough to let more defenders get back.

City would have been 3 down against a good team. Shocking how much space Spurs got on the CA.

Unfortunately Spurs are not a good team. Even if this isn't horrible after the first 8 mins or so.

City's on-ball shape has left them exposed in transition against Spurs' narrow block. There's so much space either side of Fernandinho once they lose possession, they lack compactness in midfield which is leaving acres of space for Bergwijn, Son and Lucas to attack.

I generally do not dislike refs. I do not subscribe to this idea that reffing is poor etc - it is as good as can be expected as long as they are humans, but Taylor is one of few I really do not like.

Then and there

I don't understand why Newcastle only left one player to cover those two guys, there was no-one else on that side of the goal.

Also, who about what, Gooner calling other teams pathetic.

Did not know that. Probably because Szczesny played a while for them. It's been going well since they asked Wenger to go. You don't know what you've lost until it's gone to paraphrase Joni Mitchell. :DD

Dier isn't even HG.

New manager and Dier is back in the team. Then is takes 50 $$&$^$ games for that new manager to understand he is that bad.

Feels like a City lineup one could beat, but Spurs is just in such a mess with that lineup. No Kane and no CD.

Romero behind Dier. Nuno is a clown. He has seen enough of Dier while managing Wolves. Maybe he feels the Portugal link and assumes Dier is part Portuguese in some way. ;)

Skipp ahead of Lo Celso.

Skipp and Lo Celso are not competing for the same spot necessarily.
