I am very exited about 2020 lines combo
Here what I think should be :
Rasmussen-Larkin- Mantha
Bertuzzi-AA-Svechnikov
Veleno-Nielson-Zadina
Abdelkader-Turgeon-Glendening

There is no way Zadina isn't in the top 6.
Very little chance they'd put Rasmussen and Mantha on the same line

There is also negative chance that the Wings do absolutely nothing in free agency related to forwards.

More likely it will be something like this.

Assuming Nyquist, Vanek, Frk, Helm gone. I'm also going to assume that AA is gone.

Rasmussen-Larkin-Zadina
Bertuzzi-X-Mantha
Abdelkader-Nielsen-X
Veleno-Glendening-Turgeon/Svechnikov

Wings look to add a 2C and a 3RW (3RW could be an internal guy like G. Smith, Pope or similar

On defense

DDK-X
Hronek-X
Cholowski-X

X's could be current players like Green, Daley, Jensen, Ericsson

Bernier
Howard/X

Bernier and either Howard on a cheaper backup deal or 2019's Carter Hutton, Antti Raanta, or Robin Lehner

It is 2020 still transition year for Red Wings. It doesn't meter if Zadina not in the first line as long as he with speedy teammates . I hope Holland not trying to get more forwards at free agency and why not to put your best forwards in the first line ?

With the exception of the core guys, our lineup is going to look more different than that is my guess!

Zadina-X-Mantha
Ras-Larkin-Svech
Berggren-Veleno-Bert
Abdelkader-Nielsen-Helm/prospect

Two great scoring lines, an energy/scoring third line, and a defensively responsible bottom line to shut down the other team/PKers.

Defense:
Train wreck time!
X/X
Cholo/Hronek
DDK/Green

My most hopeful 2020 roster.

Bertuzzi Larkin Zadina
AA Tierney Mantha
Berggren Veleno Svech
Glendening Nielsen Abdelkader

DDK Hronek
Lindstrom/2019 1st rounder (YORK) Cholowski
Hicketts Sustr

Bernier
Korpisalo

Threw in a couple of players that could be acquired through trades.

Chris Tierney acquired in a trade.
Sustr was a F/A signing

Korpisalo and futures was in a trade for Nyquist.

Just my take! LMK what you like / don't like about it...

If we are talking about the 19-20 season, my guess would be that Veleno & Berggren are in GR

Because Rasmussen and Mantha look like they're going to be in the same type of role. You want balanced lines for shift to shift consistency. They could do a PP line together or something, but it would be far far more effective to have Mantha on one line and Rasmussen on the other.

It's the same reason why Babcock wanted to keep splitting up Datsyuk and Zetterberg if he could. Two balanced lines are usually better than one stacked one for game-in, game-out purposes.

It's why Pittsburgh hardly ever does a super line with Malkin and Crosby. It actually whittles away your advantage if you stack all your good players on one line.

- One line makes a hockey team.

- Two lines makes a good hockey team

- Three balanced lines makes a contender.

Was it that underager rule?

Year younger than regular CHL guy makes him possible as year younger in AHL ?

Man, they are finding these loopholes nowadays.

Can’t remember. I just remember Holland stating that Veleno is AHL eligible next year.

Zadina going to have bright future, but he is not NHL ready. Biggest reason he felt to us because he wasn't that good during his physique test. Berggren needs at least 2 years to be NHL ready. I believe Zadina and Veleno both will have full NHL season in 2020.

What I think it will be in 20-21:

(Bert, Svech & Bergs all interchangeable depending on matchups)
Z-L-M
Raz-Veleno-Berggren
Svech-Nielsen-Bert
Abby-Turgeon-Pope
Ehn, Holmstrom

DDK- ?
Cholowski-Hronek
McIsaac-Saarijarvi
Hicketts...

I think Berggren probably gets 2 years in sweden and then a year in AHL, unless he’s just completely dominant.
