Taylor Hall averages 74 points a season. The last time a Montreal Canadiens' player scored more than 74 points in a regular season was Alex Kovalev back in 2008.

But Simmonds or Brassard might be cool.

A top line winger would actually give us a chance to make the playoffs and do some damage. If Bergy can manage that he can "tweak" for the next few years without thinking too much about the Price-Weber succession plan.

My wishlist for UFAs in order from most wanted:

1- Hall
2- Toffoli
3- Duclair
4- Simmonds

If we cant land Hall. Id definitely be happy with 2 of the later 3. Toffoli would continue in the size with skill trend we re going for. Simmonds will/would get shit on by most but on a 3rd/4th line...he can be a good add

I actual like where the team is going recently. Call me crazy but I was always a big detractor of Bergevin and Ive liked his moves recently.Dosent change the fact hes done a terrible job but he gets bonus points for these past two seasons imo. Keep in mind this is the guy that signed Karl Alzner so who the **** knows

Lehkonen-KK-Armia
Thompson-Evans-Weal
Poelhing-Ylonen

Chiarot-Weber

I would sign Thompson (1million/year) for the 4rth line and that's it.

Fighting for a spot in the Stanley Cup Series.

Sorry to say, but I think the last few days have been horrible for this team.

I was not against getting Anderson, but Domi was worth much more. Mr....." you cant draft, trade, sign centres" just gave away one at a discount instead of getting a premium. No matter what happens going forward, Domi should have gotten more back this week.

And the Draft. I couldnt follow anymore with MBs childish wheeling and dealing ( oh giggles so much fun ) of picks, and TTs fascination of American prospects that have yielded us squat the last decade, while being incapable of finding talent in the Q and Sweden.

Hall - Kotkaniemi - Gallagher
Drouin - Suzuki - Anderson
Lehkonen - Danault - Armia

Would be a great top 9. I really hope we sign Hall somehow.

That is exactly what I have in mind. It would require MB to shed some salary at a time when everyone else is, but Tatar/Kulak I think can be moved and deemed useful for other teams without taking salary back as Tatar has a higher cap hit than salary this season and Kulak is relatively inexpensive depth. A pick would need to be added to help move a Byron and probably retain some salary. The 4th line, 13th forward, Dmen 5/6/7/8 would all have to be on the cheap, but I personally think it's worth it and necessary for a team that needs more offensive firepower and has tied up $15m in cap on goaltending.

On to the ufa market.

A lot of options and we have some cap space - even more if we let go of Byron and Weal. We have 14 picks next year, so we should be able to use them to do that if needed.

Have you watched Simmonds the last 2 years??
He’s atrocious. He can’t skate. He will be scratched 10 gAmes in
He’s been in a massive decline since 2017.

I dont think we can sign Hall. I think he'd want a long term contract from us and I'd be hesitant to give him 6 or 7 years.

My wishlist would be

1. Toffoli
2. Reilly Smith (Vegas needs to shed some money)
3. Hoffman
4. Dadonov

Cant wait to see if we stay active on Friday :)

I have watched him and i really do think he has some gas left-just not in a great position. You cant go from back to back 30 goal seasons and then vanish. Not when you're a worker. Im not saying he will be a core player or a top 6 player at that-but i prefer his size and grit on a bottom line over a Weal/Byron/Weise and co. He would definitely be more of a presence than what we've had.

I wouldnt be upset with any of your adds-i just prefer having either elite skill or someone that can bring some size along with some skill to the lineup.

Definitely any player that can put up goals/pts would be welcome though.

I hope MB can continue the job hes started this year.

I made this earlier today

Hall - CapFriendly - NHL Salary Caps

If we ship Tatar for pure futures and someone like Weal, we have the cap space to sign Hall. We could even keep Byron and Kulak as depth. Mete would probably go for futures. Signing Wayne Simmonds to a cheap contract for the 4th line would be great too.

They need 22 or 23 on the roster every night though, so they'd still have to move out money in your lineup. I would literally turn around and trade Allen if needed and find a cheaper option.
