I will make a thread every day until we have determined the top 20 prospects according to Leaf fans on HFBoards for I think my 10th straight year. The criteria for a prospect will be loosely based on Calder eligibility. There may be a couple that slip through the cracks the first few posts because I am not perfect. Also please let me know if I have someone listed that is no longer with us, or any omissions. Comprehensive prospect lists are a little harder to find than you'd think this time of year.

Rankings:
1. Rasmus Sandin -- 48.4%
2. Nicholas Robertson -- 83.5%
3. Timothy Liljegren -- 53.8%
4. Rod Iron Amirov -- 94.3%
5. Mikhail Abramov -- 36.5%
6. Filip Hallander -- 32.4%
7. Yegor Korshkov -- 47.2%
T-8. Joey Anderson -- 27.7%
T-8. Nick Abruzzese -- 27.7%
10. Roni Hirvonen -- 45.6%
11. Topi Niemela -- 40.7%
12. Mikko Kokkonen -- 42.6%
13. Semyon Der-Arguchintsev -- 26.2%
T-14. Filip Kral -- 22.5%
T-14: Joe Woll -- 22.5%
16.

From 13 onwards, we’re looking at guys who are unlikely to make the NHL in any sort of full time manner, and very unlikely to be a top 6 forward/top 4 D/starting goalie.

I’m not very good at judging goalie prospects, but to me Akhtyamov looks high-upside. From highlights he appears to be athletic/quick, with great reflexes, and decent size. His numbers so far are very good. Seems a little too noisy in net, taking himself out of position too often, but that’s normal for a young guy. I’d take a guy with very low certainty/high risk but starting goalie upside over the other options, so Akhtyamov for me.

I'm saying Holmberg. Some younger guys might change it in the coming years, but making the WJC, earning a regular spot in a good program and a top men's league and improving production year after year is all we can realistically expect from these later round picks.

Brooks has the clearest to the NHL and has already played there. That's all you can ask for a prospect ranked close to 20 in your team rankings.

brooks is now entering waiver eligibility and is not a lock on this roster. unless he cracks the full time roster (doubt it), he’s either playing full time in the A this season at 24, being passed over by 31 teams as an NHLer, or he’ll be gone from our system.

i’d personally opt for one of the other prospects who imo have some shot at an NHL career instead of on the cusp of fringe journeyman.

I've been bullish on Brooks for years and think that under normal circumstances he could have turned the corner and been this years Johnsson/Moore/Engvall, but I think Covid could be a real kick in the teeth to his career if there's no AHL season for him to step up and lead the Marlies before a call up.

Hard for him to separate from the likes of Boyd/Engvall/Barabanov/Anderson etc without games
