I don't understand NCAA rules tbh. Could Bantle play an extra year like Anthony Romano is doing at Clarkson? Romano became a grad student but he also missed half of last year to injury.

Not sure if the top players are getting paid big $$ like in other sports but if that starts happening, it won't be worth drafting college players at all unless you're 100% sure they want to play for your organization.

I think Bantle and Romano could be replacement contracts for Sanford and Kirkland. Nothing much was expected of those guys so replacing them with younger prospects would help build the system. Most of the players in Tucson don’t need as much babysitting now. And the higher end prospects will come after the initial ELCs for Bantle and Romano are expiring. If they can’t cut it, release them as RFAs.
