I have no problem with a WR finally winning one again after 29 years. Smith was Heisman worthy. But if he didn't play on an obvious playoff team he probably wouldn't have won it because there have been many unreal seasons by WRs statistic wise over the last 30 years that didn't even get them close. I guess it also helped no QB really separated themselves from one another this year.

It's maybe now a best skill player on a top team award again rather than a best QB on a top team award, which is a nice development.

You could say the same for other guys who constantly don't get on national TV. The voters have to be able to see the games.

This is a pretty significant development and surprising it took this long, the Pac-12 has been a disaster for the better part of a decade.
