God no to Perry, and I think Yanni Gourde is on the "must keep" list. His game is tailor-made for the playoffs.

Johnson is the obvious headline on the "must go" list. His game has declined, and it's really not one that can shine in the playoffs anymore. His skillset is the most easily replaced (Verhaeghe, Volkov). As much as I've loved him as a player and competitor in the past, it's time to get someone younger, faster, and more physical.

Maybe ABB can make the team. Volkov looked great in his one game. All in all, that team is pretty close to the team that just dominated a post-season. Stamkos makes a big difference.

If we can keep Cirelli, we're a better team than the one that just won the cup because we're adding Stamkos.

Yeah. If Johnson waives, it's best case scenario. But if I'm not mistaken, the guy has a family. I don't see him waiving. (I mean, maybe, MAYBE Johnson sees the writing on the wall that he'll be gone next year either way, and at least this year he has control over where he's traded. That's the most optimistic thing I can come up with.)

I don't think ABB has shown anything to suggest he's an NHLer, let alone in the top-6. To me, Verhaeghe has shown more, and Verhaeghe clearly needs to take a big step to be a top-6 guy. Neither guy is showing JAM type flashes.

Sergachev better assure that for himself because the whole of the NHL's RFA corps doesn't have like 4-6 months to play chicken with each other like last offseason.

We need to re-sign Sergy, Cernak, and Cirelli. Don't think any other options for those guys. We WANT them back. We also should re-sigh Stephens and Verhaeghe. They showed enough for me to want them back to see how they develop. Wouldn't care if we didn't re-sign Joseph.

Killer and Johnny will both get traded, I think. That would free up $9.45 Million on the cap assuming we don't pick up any contracts in the deals. I don't want Gourde to go anywhere but we may have to try to move him too.

Would like to see if we could re-sign Shatty and BOGO but I think both have played themselves into decent contracts elsewhere. I am not really interested in bringing Maroon back. He's a bit of an anchor. Sure, he provided good leadership but most of this group shouldn't need that anymore. They're all growsed up now...


Hopefully Foote is ready to make the leap to pair up with Heddy for some protected minutes. We could re-sign Rutta and Schenn for minimum and they and Coburn could split minutes.

They're not THAT desireable to us... because we have the best roster in the league. Plenty of teams will find what Killer and Johnny brings to the table to be appealing. I am sure of that.
