This one was definitely a legacy play for an award. It's starting to feel that way, especially with 3 voters leaving Vasilevsky off the ballot completely...
Vasilevsky finished 1st in wins, but finished 4th in GAA, SV%, and Shutouts, minimum 30 games played. Fleury was 5 wins behind Vasilevsky but was second in GAA and SV%, and 3rd in Shutouts. There were 3 goalies better than Vasilevsky in every category except 1.

Vasilevsky was 2nd in the league in both Goals Saved Above Expected and Goals Saved Above Average. Fleury was 3rd and 4th, respectively. Those numbers you're listing don't take into account how much better Vegas was at suppressing shots than Tampa this year. Vegas was 11th in Expected Goals Against and 13th in High Danger Chances Against, Tampa was 21st and 19th...

You know who else doesn't take those numbers into account? The voters. I listed the top 4 categories they look at.

So Bergevin is the only guy, of all awards, to have the most 1st place votes and not win.

So Vasilevskiy finishes 1st team all star and 7th in Hart voting, Fluery not even top 20, yet doesn't win the Vezina.
I've always wondered. There's essentially two awards for the best goalie. Vas could literally say I was voted the best goalie in the NHL this season.

Anaheim having 0 people in the organization even remotely up for any sort of honors in the NHL kinda sums up just how shitty their on-ice product is. Boring from top to bottom (except the youngsters which weren't full timers yet this year).

I’d stunned that Kaprisov over Robertson was nearly unanimous.

Roberston was pacing 49 points in 55 games compared to Kaprisov who got 51 points in 55 games. I would probably give the edge to Kaprisov but he did play on a better team and is older, so I would have guessed that the voting would have been much much closer.

I think their logic was more along the lines of how well they dominate the game and not just the production itself, have you seen Kaprisov play? To come into the league and be a highlight reel like that is INSANE.

Well deserved Calder. And Robertson had an amazing year as well.

Tyson Barrie is the only defenseman in the history of the Norris trophy to lead his position in scoring, and not receive a single vote for the award.

So Vasy gets the first All Star Team over Fleury, but not the Vezina?

LOL Okay then.

He was/is flashier which is probably it.

So it was Seth Rorabaugh that voted Crosby 1st all-star team center.

Interestingly enough, Craig Button was the one who gave Kris Letang a 1st place vote for the Norris.
I don't know who this Seth Rorabaugh is, but his votes are definitely something "different". Did you see his Selke ballot ? Pageau, Brown, Faksa, Couture, Clendening.
