Remember that time we traded our 7th to Montreal so they could select Primeau?

Yep, but the 2019 draft will be sooooo deep, it'll be like picking in the 6th round. :naughty:

Seriously, who trades a 2017 7th rounder for what ends up as a 2019 7th rounder?

Did Hexy and Pryor just run out of ideas?

That's odd as 7th round picks are the opposite of a sure thing anyway.
If you are just rolling the dice why not pick a year earlier to see the potential outcome earlier?

Pryor said they had made a lot of picks and got the players they were interested in so when Montreal called they agreed to defer the pick (or something like that IIRC).

But at least last year, given that the pick was the 5th highest in Rd 7 AND the fact that Primeau was picked the year before and was looking good, you would think Hextall could have brought both facts up, and say "I helped you with Primeau, make it a 6th rounder"

It's a small thing, but he could have gotten it I believe. Doing the favour for the same team in b2b years, but we got nothing out of it.

But hey, we got Zamula for free last year instead of using a pick on him. Can't win them all.

They basically gave Montreal two 7ths for one 7th. It will never makes sense.
