So Canes easy breasy take 23 and some saying they could suprise and make the playoffs i think its def a possibility now with a foundational d being supported now by guys like aho Necas and of course Svech. Future looks bright thats for sure, hopefully they solve the goalie issue foe their sake. Anyways 24 is NEXT

Picking Arizona, again.

Look at the roster. It's pretty good on paper. Tell me this blueline isn't playoff worthy:

OEL - Goligoski
Hjalmarsson - Demmers
Chychrun -Connauton

Raanta is a legit starter, and they got a quality backup in Kuemper to fix the issue that sunk them at the start of last season.

So it's down to the forwards. Good enough C depth with Stepan, Galchenyuk, Dvorak, and Strome. No 80 point superstar there, but no duds either. They are 4 quality pivots who can produce. Then the wings are filled with young talent like Keller, Perlini, Crouse, Fisher, Hinostroza. And then add vet wing depth with Panik and Grabner.

They could use a scoring winger, sure. And a better #1 C would be needed to contend. But it's a good group, all things considered.

Huh, good argument for them. That doesnt look bad at all. Could see them challenging for a spot

Picking a fight
I'll go with NYI here. Team was a borderline playoff team (made it '14 and'15, and missed by one point in '16) when it had Tavares and no Barzal. Last season, IMO, was a fluke due to Doug Weight's brutal defensive schemes and a rash of injuries to an admittedly already not so stellar blueline. Unbelievable waste that the one season of having both Barzal and Tavares goes down the tubes thanks to coaching.

Obviously I'm a homer, though, so if you wanna use that to discount what I'm saying go ahead.

Arizona easily has the best roster out of any team left. I would even take Zona over Carolina, Chicago, and NJ.

Arizona for me:

They finished the last half of last season at 20-14-7, if they can keep that going they’ll compete for the playoffs.
