So summer brings us the annual rankings and heres another. Check out the link from last year that saw Pittsburgh and Edmonton go 1, 2. Well Washington went 6 but won the Cup and the Las Vegas Golden Knights went 31st and lost in the final to Washington. Unpredictable at times! Anyways lets get the voting started, and heres the last few years results, if anyone can find the 2016 one please link it:

For me the top teams is a MUCH bigger group this coming year tho Im sure by the end of the season therell be some suprises and some disappointments. Heres my top tear:

Tampa
Pittsburgh
Winnipeg
Boston
Washington
Nashville

My dark horse candidate for this year is Colorado but cant imagine HFboards will vote them intil around 10 or so

Tough one. There's the typical HF favorites like Tampa and Nashville, but they fall short when it matters most. But maybe this is their year to get over the hump? Then there's the recent champs like Pittsburgh and Washington, but how much left in the tank do they have after long playoff runs? Then there's the new breed like Winnipeg or Toronto, but both have to show they can handle the long playoff grind still.

I'm not going to actually vote (sue me), but I'll pick from those 6.

Tampa Bay still looks like the best team on paper to me.

There’s a couple teams (Toronto, Winnipeg, maybe Pittsburgh) that could sway me if they added one more player at a position that could possibly sway me but for now, it’s the Bolts.

I go with the Jets. Most of their best player are in their low to mid 20's. That include their top forward, defencemen and their #1 goalie. Add to the fact that these young player got a lot of PO experience with their run to the WCF last season says to me that they can even be better then their WCF finish last year.

If not the Jets then I agree with most here TB has the best chance to win it all for all the reason I mentioned about the Jets.

Tampa, Toronto, Boston, Pens and Caps are the favorites out east (in no order).

Nashville, Wpg seem to be a cut above everyone else out west, but perhaps I am underrating the 2nd tier teams out west. Maybe the Ducks won't get so injured or the Blues additions will dramatically help. Or Kovi makes a different in LA. West seems just wide open after the top.

I do think the top 7 is pretty clear, though.

Caps fan voting Pittsburgh. I think Murray will really establish himself as a top tier goalie and Letang will have a bounce back year.

I think Pittsburgh rebounds - they always seem to play better when they are not expected to win the cup. Everyone will talk about how their window has now closed, like Chicago, and then they will win it all.

Crosby and Malkin are arguably both top 3 players in the world still.

I don't think anyone believes for a minute their window is closed. I've yet to hear a single poster on HF even say that. They are and remain a top contender for the cup every season (regardless of if you have them at exactly #1, or below).

Tampa was the favorite for me last year up until DSP made it 2-0 in game 6 of the conference finals and they're the favorite for Karlsson and the Cup again
