I loved those 90s Mariners teams with Junior, Buhner, Randy Johnson, and Edgar Martinez. The teal brims of their caps remind me of childhood.

It's kind of sad to see them fall into the basement every single year. Felix Hernandez is a HOFer near the end of his long career and hasn't even sniffed a playoff game. It's a shame.

But if we've learned anything this week it's that sports are a cruel mistress.
