Time for the annual prospect polls. Vote for who you think the best prospect is (using your own criteria of what you think makes someone the best prospect, eligibility is the hockeysfuture criteria). Polls will be up 48 hours, if they are close enough I'll make a tiebreaker poll.

Last years results:

1. Sam Steel
2. Troy Terry
3. Jacob Larsson
4. Josh Mahura
5. Isac Lundestrom
6. Maxime Comtois
7. Marcus Pettersson
8. Max Jones
9. Antoine Morand
10. Kalle Kossila
11. Andy Welinski
12. Kevin Roy
13. Benoit-Olivier Groulx
14. Blake McLaughlin
15. Olle Eriksson Ek
16. Jack Kopacka
17. Giovanni Fiore
18. Jack Badini
19. Lukas Dostal
20. Jack Perbix
21. Kiefer Sherwood
22. Hunter Drew
23. Nick Sorensen
24. Brent Gates
25. Kyle Olson

Notable graduates: None.

Edit: I'm not sure if the rankings are showing up in the 2014-2017 years properly, they're not for me anyway but I'll leave the links up in case they work for anyone else. Could be something to do with tables.

Anyway I think I can guess who number one will be this year. Number two should be a lot more competitive. I'm going to limit this poll to just a few names as I doubt there will be much competition (I only threw Dostal in in case sameone is convinced he will be the next Hasek) - I will add a ton more for number two. If anyone is outraged I left someone off, let me know and I will restart the poll.

Thanks for starting this! I'm not sure if there's a need to have 48 hours of voting time, but if you are busy and can't do these every day, then it's fine.

I think that Zegras is the obvious choice here just based on his potential. Maybe one more year of development before going to Anaheim for him.

What are the requirements for graduating? Terry played 32 games, Larsson played 49, and Sherwood played 50. I see you put HF criteria, but I don't know where to find that.

Ya I feel like we don't have to do 48 hours... usually you can tell who its going to be by first 20 votes or so.

Thanks for doing this, Paul! Always look forward to these rankings.

But yeah, this one belongs to Zegras. #2 will be a lot more interesting.

65 games for skaters and 45 games for goalies IIRC - I believe players need to be 24 or younger too. All our key guys from last year are still eligible.

On a side note does anyone know if I can copy the template of the previous thread and edit the poll options and keep the links in tact or do I have to re-do the poll/links each time I post a new one?

Voted Zegras. Torn between Steel and Terry in second place.

Yeah I think second will come down to Steel or Terry with maybe Comtois competing too. We have a pretty clear top 5 IMO with Lundestrom on a similar level to the others.

I personally take Steel second. I like Terry's skating ability and shiftiness better but I think Steel is miles ahead defensively, has just as good vision and passing ability and also has developed a bit more of a goal scoring knack. He's also a year behind in his development and despite that was IMO the better of the two at the NHL level (Terry was better in the minors though).

Zegras by a longshot. Is there anything Steel does better than Zegras when Steel was 18 ?
