montreals being underrated. if they can muster a better than bottom start, once weber is good to go they can have a .500 run and be well ahead of the true bottom feeders. vancouver and detroit will be bottom, ottawa 3rd depending on when trades are made.

Vancouver here and they might even be slightly underrated. Pettersson and Boeser are going to be an incredible pairing along with Demko knocking on the door.

Montreal is going nowhere with Julien and Bergevin at the helm, but Price could always carry them on his back. Will be interesting to see how well he performs as well as Domi. I expect a much better season out of Drouin as well but Julien is an idiot so I expect him to continue to mismanage his team and bring everyone down. Patches is also expected to be traded, so that's another reason why I think they wont be a very good team this season.

Detroit has some great prospects but they are at least 2-3 years away from making an impact on the team. Should be bottom two with Ottawa.

Ottawa is going need a good return for Karlsson, because this team is going nowhere fast. They no longer have their 1st round pick for next year and I am unimpressed with their prospect pool outside of the top 3. Aside from their top line, their forwards are abysmal, their defense that once centred around Karlsson is now going to be exposed (Chabot is great though) and to top it all off, their owner is a massive dick to his fanbase. I feel really sorry for Ottawa fans because the next 5 years are going to be a bumpy ride.

What's Vancouver's path to the cup? Do they even have one?

Not saying it's a big chance - but with Montreal if Price goes superman again, at least you can rationalize a path to the cup. It's Montreal.
