Good luck to all of the GM's Saturday!

1. Detroit Red Wings – Jack Hughes

The Red Wings need a franchise Centre and they get one in Hughes, he will bring an imidete impact to the redwings and will speed up their rebuild.

2. Columbus Blue Jackets – Kaapo Kaako
Definitely the easiest decision in the draft the Blue Jackets are happy to land either Hughes or Kaako. With Kaako the Blue Jackets get an elite scorer who showed that he was ready for the big leagues with his play at the world Championship.

3. Philadelphia Flyers – Bowen Byram
It has been known for some time that Philly wants Byram at three and why wouldn’t they, he is the best defender in this class and joins the best prospect group, which has loads of forwards.

4. Dallas Stars – Dylan Cozens
After getting a number 1 defenceman for the future the Stars decide to pick Cozens a powerful centre with great skating ability and the perfect 1-2 punch with him and Hischier down the middle.

5. Vegas Golden Knights – Alex Turcotte
Even with battling injuries Turcotte came out of this year as one of the top USNTDP players with a 1.68 point per game and has good defensive skills, could be used on the PK.

6. Carolina Hurricanes – Cole Caufield
The hurricanes are stacked down the middle with Barkov, Kotkaniemi and Andersson, so why not take the best scorer USNDTP history. Caufield is a pure scorer, scoring 72 goals breaking Matthews’ previous record for most goals in a single USNDTP season and breaking Phil Kessel’s record for most goals in USNDTP history.

7. Arizona Coyotes – Kirby Dach
Arizona will not miss on the opportunity to take the speedy skilled power centre in Dach. This was a choice between Dach and Krebs but ultimately Dach seemed like the safer option.

8. Florida Panthers – Peyton Krebs
The only knock on Krebs for the Panthers is his injury that he just sustained. GM Brock would like to take someone from the OHL but won’t pass up on Krebs a hard working great playmaking centre.

9. Edmonton Oilers – Trevor Zegras
At the start of a big rebuild the Oilers take the best player available and it happens to be at their neediest position. With Zegras you have the chance of a potential 1st line centre and someone with a great hockey IQ.

10. New Jersey Devils – Vasili Podkolzin
The Devils are one team in the top 10 who could easily make it to the playoffs next year, that being said they opt to take the big risk in Podkolzin knowing that they will have a better season next year and don’t need a guy who can help immediately. Podkolzin has tremendous skill and can snipe the puck and score on command.

11. Philadelphia Flyers – Matthew Boldy
With their second of three picks in the first round Philly grabs a strong winger in Boldy who put up big numbers in USNDTP to add to their huge prospect pool.

12. Montreal Canadiens – Thomas Harley
With a new GM just appointed who knows what will happen with this pick. Looking at the Canadiens they have lots of scoring up front and some good forward prospects coming up so they look and take one of the best offensive defenseman in this draft in Harley. He can quarterback a PP and also be a crucial PK guy. He could use a bit of time working on his defensive skills, but Montreal can’t pass up on his offensive ability.

13. Philadelphia Flyers - Moritz Seider
With their last pick in the first round Philly grabs the other half to their top pair of the future in big two-way defender Seider. One of the big risers in this year’s draft it’s hard not to see the potential that Seider has and how he could be a corner stone on defense on any team that takes him.

14. Pittsburgh Penguins – Alex Newhook
Pittsburgh takes the best player available in Newhook. Had a monstrous season in the BCHL, leading the league in points and assists. Newhook has great hands and tremendous upside.

15. Los Angeles Kings – Arthur Kaliyev
Another pure scorer from this draft Kaliyev had 51 goals and 51 assists this year in the OHL and showed that he is always ready to score.

16. Pittsburgh Penguins – Philip Broberg
With their second pick in the first round Pittsburgh takes the swede with great skating ability and once ranked the top defenseman in this draft.

17. New Jersey Devils – Victor Soderstrom
Back to back Swedish defenseman here, the Devils are thrilled to get Soderstrom who is one of the top PP quaterbacks in this draft, and always seems to get shots through traffic.

18. Vancouver Canucks – Raphael Lavoie
Canucks take a chance on the skilled forward from the QMJHL. Lavoie looks like he can shoot from anywhere, especially from the shot with his speedy release he’s always a threat with the puck.

19. Tampa Bay Lightning – Cam York
The lightning have great young defenseman in Jones and Provorov, so why not take a chance on York, the best USNDTP defenseman produced lots of points, has high hockey IQ and is good at defending in open ice situations.

20. Anaheim Ducks – Spencer Knight
First things first who knows if Anaheim will have this pick or any come Saturday, but if Roy still has two picks come Saturday I can see him taking Knight. The Ducks have the best player in the world but know that if they are going to win they need a number one tender and that is where Knight comes in, the number one consensus goalie.

21. Toronto Maple Leafs – Philip Tomasino
The new GM in Toronto can’t wait to make his first draft choice and the pick is the speedy Centreman Tomasino from Niagara, had a slow start to the season but finished the year off strong.

22. Boston Bruins – Ryan Suzuki
The bruins look at Suzuki and love his playmaking skills and values his ability to always find the open man. Suzuki only makes the players around him better.

23. New Jersey Devils - Connor McMichael
Although New Jersey wishes to have another Connor Mc… they take McMichael from the London Knights. When have the London Knights not produce a star in the making, McMichael is another star from London and had a big year to prove it.

24. Vegas Golden Knights – Ville Heinola
Heinola is a great puck moving defender already playing big minutes with men in Liiga, he is very smart with the puck and can create quick offence on the rush. This is a good pick for the defense needy Golden Knights.

25. Florida Panthers - Nils Höglander
With their second first rounder in the draft, Brock will take a gamble with Hoglander. He has great speed and hands, and always plays with heart and grit. Played well offensively in the SHL against men, but had a few hiccups defensively.

26. Chicago Blackhawks - Jamieson Rees
Blackhawks see how important pesky players are in this league and Rees is one of the peskiest. Started the year off injured but picked his game right where he left it.

27. Nashville Predators – Bobby Brink
Nashville is going after the person with the best upside to try and build up their prospect pool and they absolutely Love Brink’s ability to find the open man, but also loves when he shoots, a real sniper out of the USHL.

28. New York Islanders - Samuel Poulin
The Islanders enjoyed a nice run to the ECF and are now focused on rebuilding one of the poorer farm systems. With Poulin the Islanders get a much needed forward prospect who uses his big body to protect the puck.

29. Anaheim Ducks - Matthew Robertson
Anaheim (if they still have this pick) takes a big strong defenseman with good offensive skills. He is great during puck battles and in the corners.

30. Carolina Hurricanes – Vladislav Kolyachonok
After taking the best pure scorer in this draft Carolina comes back at the end of the first with the big mobile shut down defenseman in Kolyachonok who had a great year with a bottom of the league Flint team.

31. Florida Panthers - Nick Robertson
With their third pick in the first round the Panthers take another Centre and someone GM Brock is familiar with from the OHL. The panthers like the speed and scoring ability of Robertson too much to pass on at the end of the first.
