I'm just glad St. Louis won the Cup in 7 games so we know how to model our team moving forward. It's the only way. I don't care that between this season and last season, over a full calendar year, St. Louis had the same winning percentage as that dumpster fire in Edmonton or that they had a GF% of 46 (26th "best" in the league) with their big acquisitions - O'Reilly, Schenn, and Bozak down the middle.

Boston's way obviously doesn't work. Drafting, developing, and filling needs from within is so boring anyway.

I wouldn't mind Kadri, but let's be honest, he's a 3C.
3 years left on a modified NTC at $4.5M. 29 next season. ED exposed?
Averaged 34 ES points the last five years. 15 PP points the last four years, but he'd be PP2 here.
CorsiRel: 2.5, 1.4, -1.6, 2.7
E +/- : 1.6, 5.5, -2.1, 5.0
xGF/60: .093, .233, .031, .086
xGA/60: .062, -.119, .071, .035
GAR EV: 0.0, 7.6, -0.4, -0.2
GAR PP: 1.6, 3.4, 2.8, 1.0
GAR SH: -0.1, 0.0, 0.0 , 0.0
GAR PEN: 4.8, -0.1, 3.0, 2.1

He'd be solid bottom six depth, but not sure he'd even outscore Patrick next year (31 ES to 29 last season), it's not like he'll have better linemates here.
He was 8th in ES TOI on Toronto, behind Marleau.
Mediocre defense, no PK, good PP on a team that doesn't need that from him.
Best skill is drawing penalties, somewhat negated by drawing suspensions.
He's also a LH, and no experience at RW (some at LW).

Trade Ghost for him, uh, are you crazy?

Kadri would be fine but the 11th or Ghost is too much. I'd rather get Hayes around 6 a season without a no trade clause or try for a stop gap.

I just think Kadri is such a better fit with his contract. I also think he’s the better player. I’d rather use it in a deal for Trouba, but I’d understand if Fletcher moved it 1 for 1 for Kadri. He’d solidly the forward group and could play in every situation while allowing Fletcher to spend more money on a big defenseman.

20-21 and 21-22

Giroux-Couturier-Voracek
JVR-Patrick-Konecny
Lindblom-Kadri-Farabee
Laughton/Raffl-Frost-Hartman/Ratcliffe

Frost just slides up the lineup if you can’t resign him in 3 years.
