So okay, something really bugs me about NHL.com's use of the word "which"...

See, the sub-heading reads: "Scores with 1.2 seconds remaining in overtime to top Colorado, which had won seven in a row".

I'm convinced that their use of "which" is incorrect. Can someone tell me if I'm crazy?

Anyway. Leafs, Milano, DO IT.

Colorado is a thing, not a person, so “whom/who” would be incorrect.
Also, you’re crazy regardless

...I think it's funny that despite being a native English speaker, my understanding of grammar is more intuitive than academic.

I always thought it would actually be correct to refer to the Avalanche / the Ducks / whatever team as "who", because I'm thinking of them as a collection of people. So the sentence would be like "...to top Colorado, who previously won seven in a row." I always associate "which" with like...a thing that's not remotely living or composed of living things. Like a rock or something.

I mean, I know I'm at least a little bit crazy most of the time, but 20% of the day I'm relatively lucid. For the remaining 80% I consist of nothing but depression, gifs and scoreboard updates.
