Oh crap it was Canada Day here today. Missed out on perogies and poutine at the one diner run by a Canadian in my city.

Tavares of course will be interesting.
Also interested in what happens to Karlsson. Hopefully they stay away from our division and conference.

I wonder if Enstron gets signed?

Hopefully the site doesn’t implode and I have some good reading to catch up on in the morning. Have fun everybody.

I will pull my hair out if this happens, I really wish a crappy team with a bad offence in the East would had picked him up(Ottawa/Montreal).

I would hate to be the GM who has a glaring hole at RD and looks at this year's UFA crop for replacements. Ian Cole might just be the #1 option out there.

I predict something will happen today. I'm not going to go so far as to predict that everything will happen today, but I definitely predict something will happen today. So if you are a betting man, bet on something.

I would love to see Chevy sign Laine today, that would be a pretty big + moving forward.

Really hoping Stastny gets 2-3 years.

Halak goes to Boston, and here are some juicy contract details:

The Ryan deal is a good one for Calgary, I think. Underrated player, in my view. Vancouver adds some effective sandpaper.

Khudobin to Dallas, per Dreger. Good pick-up for Dallas.

Who should the Jets go for as a goalie back-up? I think Hutch might be the best option, if Chevy can mend fences with Hutch.

Don't see the Jets trading Myers, but it would definitely be their best move. The big question mark is Trouba. Lots of dominoes to fall for the Jets in the coming hours / days.

Bob bomb.

Very interesting. I was wondering if the Jets' Mason deal was more about their own RFAs. They definitely can't afford to overpay Stastny in terms of term and AAV.

Meanwhile, I wonder if Vegas is really as good as they looked last season.

Chevy also needed to clear salary for his RFAs. The Mason cap dump wasn't just about Stastny.

I doubt that Chevy will blow things up to compete for Stastny. He has to consider the longer term ramifications.

Please Understand
Pretty much. The Jets were a really damn good team without Paul Stastny, so I'm really not chagrined to see him go elsewhere. Chevy has to worry about his crop of RFAs before worrying about big game hunting in UFA land.
