Is there chance that Sebastian Ylönen makes the team? Or are Huet, Hardy and Quemener locks? I was a fan of his father and it would be nice to see Sebastian in WHC´s. I have understood that his career is on rise.

I doubt it. Huet will play his last WC. Quemener seems to be the number 2 now. Hardy had some good moments with the NT and experience.
Ylönen will be on the team next season when Huet retires.

Bertrand disapeared after the last WC fiasco, looks like he's in the doghouse.
Bozon, nearly the same. Was invited for the Olympic qualification but was cut. We all know his family and the NT coach Henderson are not great friends.

I'm pretty much sure that Johann Morant would be better than any of those d-men playing in the French league... And where is Berthon?!

Morant declined selection the last 2 WC. He put himself out of the conversation.

Berthon is a candidate but did nothing with the national team every time he went.

I agree with this overall simulation from booker, with a few comments.
Raux will be there, no doubt about it. Experience, and can play D or Fw.
The forwards ranks will be similar to that list IMO. It's a matter of who will be 13th and 14th forward. Lampérier was there a lot the last few years, didn't play a lot. Lacroix was there for the olympic qualification. Ritz did well last season during WC.
Valier has a good camp so far, but he's a long shot.
Texier... well, we all want him to make the team, he's our most talented prospect ever.

Defense... I guess it's a good list as well. Besch will be there for the experience. It's a toss-up between Dame-Malka and Trabichet. One of the two will be the 7th, IMO.

Is Douay still on that team? He struggled a lot this year and has often been injured.
Yes he is still in the team and will probably make the final lineup.

He had recently 2 good games againt Switzerland especially in the 3-2 win.
He seems to find some chemistry with Claireaux on the 3rd or 4th line.
He brings some physical play and good hits :)

Was good in Norway for the olympic qualification.
Heartbreaking penalty in the end but still...

Are Bellemare, Roussel and Auvitu really confirmed? Who's the best player that you will be missing? Or is everyone important healthy? It would be great. I love to cheer for France.

Congratulations on the press credentials. A couple of quick questions for our resident French hockey expert. Saw Texier scored against Latvia today. Any chance he makes the team? I'm going to Cologne to see the US team play a few games but we are swinging through Paris for a few days and will catch the France-Slovenia game. What do the pre-sales look like for Paris? Will the France games sellout?

Texier has a legit chance, but it's really tough to say. He did really well in both game vs Latvia, though he's not a great defender. But he created a lot.

At this point, the sure picks are, IMO (probably won't be the final lines)

Bellemare - S. Da Costa - Roussel
S. Treille - Meunier - Fleury
Claireaux - T. Da Costa - Y. Treille

So I'll say 4 to 5 spots are wide open.
Perret is pretty useful everywhere and was excellent last year.
Rech was ligue Magnus player of the year.
Ritz did very well in camp.
Lampérier was there last season but didn't play a lot.
Douay has a good OQT.
Texier has the most upside.
Valier had a good camp but I don't see him make it.
Bouvet is a long shot.

At this point, I'll say Texier has to steal a spot from a more experienced player. Lampérier could be in danger. Douay must show more.

2 more games next week vs Belarus to know who will be cut.

I don't have any clue at this point unfortunately.
The medias in France don't talk about hockey a lot at this point...

Not Denmark but Belarus :)
