I am confident in this team. Should have no trouble staying up in the elite division. We've had worse years, yet the streak of never being relegated is still on. For relegation, I am gonna say Latvia back to the lower pools

I can not see Bokros sending players from Europe back home, so the final roster will be without some of our best players (from CHL) that are going to join the team in Canada...that sucks

I would not be so sure. Latvia has a good team this year, now it seems that they may be missing key players. But if it were complete, it would be open.

Our core defender Kristians Rubins (WHL) had a shoulder injury. Two weeks ago he said that he might be out for two weeks up to a month. So we'll see what Medicine Hat Tigers decide - to let him play or not.

Also our top forward Martins Dzierkals (QMHL) sprained his ankle in mid-November. However, he seems more likely to play.

Up to a few days ago, it was also still uncertain, whether D Maksims Ponomarenko (has played in the Norwegian league since he was 16) will play, but he has joined the team.

Some forwards like Eriks Zohovs (top NAHL scorer before injury) and Artjoms Pankevics (MHL, not a huge loss) are not playing due to injuries.

I would be OK with this line-up, but I can't see Bokros taking just 7 defensemen, even though we usually play with just 3 pairings after couple of games every year.

I wouldn't be surprised if Tomek gets into the net in like second or third game and remains there for the rest of the tournament.

4th line of Bucek, Ruzicka, Studenic with 2 goals and 3 assists. Let’s hope Bokros is a reasonable man and takes those boys along.

So out of the NA guys, Solensky was a scratch vs the Finns. Now I thought to myself that meant he's likely to be out of the squad, but then the Slovaks got killed vs. the Finns. I'm sure its not just his fault, but I guess now I'm thinking there's a good chance he will end up on the team for the actual championship. I guess ultimately the guy did well last year in Czech, he's used to small rinks. Let's see what Bokros does.

Btw - after a performance like this, there's perhaps a chance that Tomek will start the championship in goal?
