Martin here for me. We are getting close to the end of guys with NHL upside. Probably Martin, Lindholm, Henry and outside shots to Clurman, Boikov, and Anderson. I guess I could see Nantel in a 4th line role at some point, 3rd line if he really takes off at some point. Anyone otherwise that makes the big show will be a pleasant and unexpected surprise.

Add Barron

I feel like Martin should win this easy, can definitely see G is an organizational weakness, need one in the first few rounds in 2018 or through a potential Duchene/Barrie/Landy trade.

I'd add Barron I suppose. Depth is really starting to show, but like others said a couple potentially graduating thins it out some. Need a couple more solid ones next summer.

Maybe they get one in a trade but they seem to like their goalie drafting strategy.

I like Barron, maybe he ends up just a AHLer but I think he's on par with Nantel.

I'll probably go Martin/Lindholm/Henry in some order. I'm not Lindholm's greatest fan but I think he should have been voted with Mironov. Henry is a legit prospect too.

Mironov being picked too early shouldn't make us pick Lindholm too early as well.

Goalie prospects are so hit-and-miss. Guys like Marek Schwarz and Jacob Markstrom look like surefire hits but end up going bust years later. Conversely, a guy can seemingly come out of nowhere (Lundqvist) and dominate.

And then there are the guys who actually live up to the hype (Rask, Price).

I also think you have to have that development strategy in place. Prior to the hiring of Filiatraut I'm not sure they even had one. Sure, McLean jetted around to check up on them but I think they've improved a good deal on an actual draft/development strategy since then.

Other people know more, I just haven't seen/read anything about Martin that says he'll be anything more than a decent backup. That doesn't rank high in my books. Henry may end up being nothing but I think there's real potential there. We'll see.

Martin does have starter potential, but next year will be really key for him. We'll find out if last year's nosedive was a temporary setback or him hitting a wall. I think he's dropped too far already.

Lindholm played well during his short stint in the NHL, he's projected to make the AVs again. He is my choice again and thought he would have been chosen already.
