Right now I think it is Nolan Patrick for sure. Max Gildon does look good, but Patrick has been a stud for a couple of years now.

Who is looking like the concensus no.1 at this moment? Patrick? Gildon? Vilardi?

Patrick is the front runner, kind of a better version of Sean Monahan in that he has developed early but probably won't be a superstar just an extremely good player.

Ron Francis type of career comp fits here as well.

but it's well over a year away guys can emerge as we have seen.

thats not really a terrible career... sure not a McDavid but better than Yakupov

I've heard that the 2017 draft class is weaker than the 2018 and 2019 daft class which boasts the likes of jake wise, David levin, Joe veleano etc.
