There were a lot of options we looked at but with our defence still having some good pieces, we felt it was best to get the franchise signal caller we've been looking for. The New York Jets are proud to select, from Clemson University, Quarterback, Deshaun Watson!

He impressed a lot of teams in the interview portion of the combine, and led his team to back-to-back CFP title games. As well there isn't much on the free agent QB market and it doesn't look like Hackenburg is going to be a very good QB.

With the 7th pick in the 2017 draft the Los Angeles Chargers select Jamal Adams, Safety, LSU.

The chargers have an exciting young defense, but they have a hole in the centre of the field. Adams is one ofvthe premier talents in the draft, paired with casey heyward and jason verrett and they have a secondary to pair with a powerful front 7.

With no takers for my offer to trade down, the Carolina Panthers select

usa-today-9052699.0.jpg

OJ Howard, TE Alabama

I know, it's a little high for him, but with Fournette and Adams off the board, and Hooker battling an injury, it makes sense to take one of the best players available. Howard adds to the incredible size that already exists on this offense with Cam, Benjamin, Funchess, and Olsen, who by the way turned 32 today, and it's fair to ask how long he'll be able to play at the same level. He was a bit banged up toward the end of last year, and it wouldn't shock me if he had a Witten-like fall off sometime soon. Not to say either player can't contribute in their mid to late 30s, but the decline in athleticism will be sorely missed. With Howard drawing comparisons to Olsen, the transition would be seamless.

I also think this is a realistic pick. They were supposedly in on Henry and Green, but both ended up going elsewhere. When Olsen first arrived, they had some solid success in two TE sets with Shockey on the other side. They did what they could with Dickson, but he is what he is. Plus, Howard's added ability as a blocker further solidifies that weakness.

With the 10th overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft, the Bills proudly select WR Mike Williams out of Clemson.

usatsi_8512702.jpg

Clemson fan here (born there, parents went there). I watched every game this season and he's a special talent for sure. Fellow Clemson alum Sammy Watkins has shown potential in his first three seasons but has had bad luck with injuries. This pick will give Tyrod Taylor another option. Williams' size and route running ability will complement Watkins' speed well. Third Clemson player in the first round for us in the past four years.

11th overall pick, the New Orleans Saints select:

#2, Marshon Lattimore, CB
hqdefault.jpg

Please, Mickey Loomis, I am so desperate for help at corner. So many years the position has been getting it's people from free agency. Or they drafted Patrick Robinson and Stanley Jean-Baptiste who were 'projects' and couldn't step on the field Day 1, which is such a patently ridiculous strategy anyways, this isn't the NHL. Free agency only really worked with Jabari Greer and that was like 10 years ago. Even if the Saints trade for Malcolm Butler, Delvin Breaux is good, but keeps getting hurt, and it's not like players who leave Belichick ever end up better for it. Last time they drafted a corner wearing #2, Malcolm Jenkins stepped on the field and won a Super Bowl. Although they let him go because no one on the defensive side of the ball ever knew how to identify NFL talent to begin with.

With the 14th pick, the Philadelphia Eagles select cornerback Marlon Humphrey, from the University of Alabama.

I'm leery to take Alabama defensive backs, but the Eagles are in desperate need of cornerbacks.
