With the Flyers currently not in a wild card spot, Bellemare could be a great addition to this team. I remember him along with Stephane Da Costa as the key figures in that Quarter Final stint in 2014 WHC. Antoine Roussel had a great tourney as well but is more of a question mark at this point. That Dallas team is good.

You'll find the pre-selection here :

The list will not be far from the reality. Players in bold are locks.
You can delete Morant, who said he won't play for the team for personal reasons.

In D, the 7th spot will probably be between Jonathan Janil, Maxime Moisand and Teddy Trabichet. I don't see another player edging these guys.

In F, it's wide open for the bottom 6.
Nicolas Arrossamena was very good this season. Eliot Berthon is a possibility as well, already played in 1 WC.
Rech, Ritz, Henderson could also play.
Dark horse include Perret and Gaborit.
Intriguing option is Maxime Lacroix, now eligible, who was a force with finalist Angers this season.

I'll say this is the biggest depth all-time for Team France, with a lot of youngsters knocking at the door.

Will Tim Bozon make the team? I know he's played in the 2 games vs Slovakia in the Euro Hockey Challenge, but didn't hear how he looked.

He had an awful year, he even played in the ECHL.. But I don't know, he's still a better player than those guys playing in the French league. He should make the team imo, they don't have many big guys up front.

Same here. :) I love to cheer for France.

Me too:) Always cheers for France:handclap:, but their current roster looks thin and they seem to struggle heavenly with creating chanses and scoring. Hope S. Da Costa and Bellemare can change this...someone else I forgot how will join the team in St. Petersburg?

Yohann Auvitu? He played last match of Liiga on tuesday and I don´t have any information about him. But I likely count on him...

Auvitu will be there and be our n°1 d-man.
Bellemare will be there as well. Da Costa looks injured, we don't have any information yet, but he should be there.

At this point, the roster is nearly set.
In defense :
Auvitu, Hecquefeuille, Besch (injured) are locks.
Janil, Manavian, Dieude-Fauvel and Chakiachvili are probably in.
We can think Moisand is going to be n°8. So Beron should be cut.

In goal, Huet, Hardy, Quemener as usual. Youngster Ylonen did well in preparation and will probably be there in a few years.

Forwards :
Captain Meunier of course, Treille brothers are locks. Same for Da Costa brothers, Bertrand, Bellemare, Fleury = 8.
Rest of the roster is a little bit uncertain. We can assume Desrosiers will be there, though is not young and lack of speed. = 9.

For the bottom 6 :
Raux is too versatile (can play defense) not to be there. = 10.
Claireaux, Bozon, Lampérier, Ritz, Berthon are on the bubble.
Wild card is youngster Jordan Perret, only 20. He impressed a lot during training camp : speed, combativity. Great determination. I really hope he's going to be there. Great future for this kid. One of our brightest prospect. = 16

We can think they're going to keep 1 spot for Roussel if Dallas fail.

So it should mean 1 cut in D and 2 or 3 in F...

Is Hecquefeuille that good for France? I mean he had a rough year with Langnau and it looks like they're looking to ship him to the NLB..

Also it's weird to see that a player like Berthon who can't crack the top-9 on the worst NLA team could play in the WC.

And it's just too bad that Douay is no longer on the team, he had a great year on our bottom 6 in Geneva.

Yep, unfortunately, we have no depth in defense.
Hecquefeuille is one of the few who can help the transition game and play PP. With his experience, skating, offensive habilities, he's a lock.

I don't see Berthon making the cut, though he wasn't that bad in preparation.
Douay could be there one day, but at this point, he's an unknown in France and lack of experience.

Hecquefeuille is also a strong locker presence and a team-leader, like a Niklas Kronwall for Sweden (but not as amazing as Kronwall sorry). Even if he were playing in the NLB and struggling I think he'd still be on the team for what he brings intangibly.

Hecquefeuille is out : concussion :(
The last game (3-2 win in Norway) was costly.
Besch, who missed the preparation, is out as well.
Manavian was injured vs Norway, we don't know yet if he'll play...

Defense will be very weak this year. Time for the kids to grow up fast.

Looks like Faure is in.
Wasn't very good in preparation but he's 23, so he'll learn. He's working hard.
Trabichet is not here. Guillemain is worse than Faure.
Would like to see more of Baazi or Llorca. But they'll not be there.
