I don't believe you  The ARod saga should be crazy enough to tune in:(

I mean I get they are you waiting for arod and CC to leave so they can get under the luxury and reset it before going spending drunk again.

It still sucks ass to watch. This infield is terrible and I don't know who is going to score on this team.

Wheeler out for season

lol

It's ridiculous at this point, you guys just cannot catch a break. For the past 5-6 years it seems that at least 1 impact player has gone down with a significant injury that cut their season either in half or totally and the past couple of years its been a pitcher. Harvey, Santana, Reyes, Wright, Beltran and there may even be a guy or two I'm missing.

I'm not even mad. Just numb to it at this point.

We are cursed. The Mets just can never catch a break. Just when this fan base was ready to get excited and believe we had a legitimate chance at one of those wildcard spots.

Wheeler was no ace by any stretch, a decent middle of the rotation guy. Maybe he would've gotten better (hey may yet) and maybe he would've just stayed where he was. But let's not act like we have to replace Doc Gooden circa 1985 production here. He's replaceable.

Thing is Wheeler probably isn't going to be the last guy that gets hurt in the Mets rotation. Niese and Gee always miss time and they're going to try to skirt around an innings limit with Harvey. It wouldn't even shock me if Colon was the only one that made 30 starts

True, and Harvey will definitely be babied.

What annoys me most about the Wheeler injury is the Mets lying about it to the press. They knew how serious it probably was and fed us this "we're not worried" tripe.

I think we'll see a heavy dose of Matz and Syndergaard this year

Though hopefully unlike last year, this year the offense can be a bit more potent. Flores and Lagares need to take steps forward. Granderson has looked good in ST. Cuddyer is a solid, though unspectacular player. 1st base is resolved, Wrights shoulder is healthy.

Yeah this was like when Marty got hurt and it wasn't believed to 'be serious' then he was out four months  Only the Mets were even more definitive there was nothing wrong with Wheeler. It looked like Baghdad Sandy and Terry out there.

No he isn't an ace. But how do you replace 185IP with a 3.50 ERA and 185Ks? Not with Dillion Gee. Neither Syndergaard or Matz are ready for that production either. Wheeler is an important piece to that rotation.

Wheeler's numbers weren't great but. he had a spectacular second half and was making great strides last year, its a huge injury but we have the pitching to replace it fortunately.

For now might as well put a fantasy question here...I can keep up to seven guys on my one team. Three are automatics (Kershaw, Scherzer, McCutchen). Bearing in mind those three are already down in marker, what other four guys should I keep from this list?

2B - Kipnis, Wong
3B - Frazier (also 1B eligible)
OF - Cruz
SP - Hamels, G. Richards
RP - Kimbrel, Holland

It's a 5x5 daily transaction, weekly matchup league - 12 teams...you can keep guys forever once you have them. I don't really want to keep three or four SP's but Hamels/Richards are too good not to consider. Obviously not keeping two 2B but leaning toward Kipnis atm assuming I keep one, but his recent injuries and bad season last year give me the willies.
