Leipsic, Leivo, Hyman

3 NHL forwards

Doesn't make sense how Soshnikov is so much higher than Leipsic lol

I feel like a lot of people rate prospects on reputation and not based on what tools they actually bring to the table.

Leipsic will not be an NHL player for my money.

He doesnt have the speed to really frustrate D...way too small doesnt have the lethal perimiter shot like Soshnikov or the playmaking creativity of a Bracco. He has pretty good hands and overall offensive instincts but not enough tools to be able to beat NHL D.

IMO should be Valiev here but A LOT of our guys we just drafted should be higher then Leipsic IMO...Not a big fan of his.

I'm still wondering how Hyman is on the list still.

Valiev looks great, no doubt about it... Leipsic - meh.

I was really impressed with Hyman in the sense he plays much bigger than he is. He was gritty and willing to get to the corner to win battles, willing to stand in front of the net, has some solid scoring finish ability, really enjoyed watching him play.

Would Soshnikov be at #4 if he put up the same numbers as Leipsic in the AHL?

Comparing them because they are the same age... Leivo is a lot better than Sosh RIGHT NOW too imo.

Valiev could be an NHL player as soon as next year, it's a travesty he hasn't been picked yet. Same with Hyman.

Josh Leivo. Should be between him and Rinat Valiev.

Leipsic disappeared during the Marlies playoffs.

Grundstrom was a consensus top 40 pick in this draft. Pronman had him ranked 28th. Going with this kid.

Grundstrom, Woll, Greenway.

Valiev, people do realize he got 10 games with us this year right? And was looking pretty legit at the tail end

I'm sorry, consensus 40.1 pick.

This link averaged 16 mock drafts from various scouting services, and came in 35th with an average ranking of 40.1.
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet...xT7wnbA752y6DCERtM7555Hlw/edit#gid=1854770418

Bob McKenzie: 40th
Seidel: 32nd
THW1: 37th
THW2: 38th
Pronman: 28th
THN: 39th

I'd say this means he was more-or-less a consensus Top 40.

Consensus among the ranking services maybe. But he was passed on 17 times at the 40th pick or later. I guess that means based on NHL teams he was a consensus below 40th pick.

No, not necessarily. Just because he was drafted 57 doesn't mean the other 17 teams valued him that low... they could have had a couple of prospects ahead of Grundstrom.

Voted Valiev, but it's a total toss-up at this point.

Leivo, Leipsic, Grundstrom, Hyman, are pretty tough bunch to choose between. You gotta think Lindberg belongs in this class too. His first-year AHL #'s were impressive.

I honestly have 10 guys here rated higher then Leipsic...

I honestly believe Leipsic wont be with our organization for very much longer.

Should have been Valiev a while ago. Kid is the real deal and has all the tools.

IMO I see Leipsic as a probable 3rd line agitator who can chip in a couple if all goes well. Valiev on the other hand looks to me like he is becoming a 3rd or 4th defenceman. Rinat gets this one easily.
