Good Morning Fellas,
In light of a spirited conversation I had last night with a good friend (leaf fan) I wanted to take the opportunity to share an opinion of mine on here and gauge general feedback.
As a die-hard from day one and former employee of the OHL I tend to be very prospect bias admittedly, however I do not foresee any one on these forums having any issue with the way our notable prospects have played with the big club, to this point.
My point being was that key AHL contributers i.e. Hudon, Andrighetto, Carr, McCarron, Tinordi and Pateryn are on the cup of being full-time NHL players and most have opened our eyes to how much potential they really have. This offseason may not be the one to make the switch for all, but I made the point that instead of going out and adding veterans to this club in the offseason it could be as simple as of young players making the next step.
In the spirit of debate would any one be upset if this was the lineup on opening day of next season?
Thanks in advanced guys and happy gameday!
2016-2017 Lineup
Pacioretty - Galchenyuk - Gallagher
Eller - Plekanec - Andrighetto
Hudon - Desharnais - Weise
Flynn - Mitchell - Smith Pelly
Markov - Subban
Beaulieu - Petry
Emelin - Pateryn
** For the record if you can find a way to replace Emelin with Tinordi I'd do it. I'm among those who think we'll regret trading him dearly. Also I see us chosing one of Flash or Weise to re-sign.
And what the hell..
2017 - 2018 lineup
Pacioretty - Galchenyuk - Gallagher
Hudon - Plekanec - Andrighetto
Eller - McCarron - Weise
Carr - Mitchell - Smith Pelly
Beaulieu - Subban
XXXXX - Petry
Tinordi - Pateryn
*** Scherbak, De La Rose and Juulsen all knocking on the door.
