Right now, with many players leaving and others not resigned (yet), Anaheim hardly even looks like a playoff team.

We also don't have the depth to roll the twins on different lines anymore.

Assuming Lindholm and Rakell resign.

Rakell-Getzlaf-Perry

Cogliano-Kesler-Silfverberg

Ritchie-Thompson-Garbutt

Wagner-Noesen-Sgarbossa

Lindholm-Manson

Fowler-Bieksa

Despres-Vatanen

Gibson
Khudobin

That is one horrible lineup.

if there is any regression at all from kesler/perry/getzlaf next year this team is in big trouble, i hope ownership is satisfied with their "let's just make the playoffs" mentality.

The more I look at this, I ask myself...can anyone name a worse forward roster in the NHL?

Vancouver perhaps. Calgary, Boston, Columbus?

We are without a doubt in the bottom-5.

Our defence isn't all that either - and the starting goalie is a young guy who is known for both ups and downs.

This upcoming season could get really ugly, really quickly.

Is the draft 2017 loaded, or did we pick a bad time to start sucking?

And worst of all.

Our three biggest money-pits are only getting older...

well if things don't improve here soon, it will become arguable that the ducks window is closed, i just can't believe we have to lose good players because of murray's stupid decisions with stoner and bieksa, and then being proactive to go and place blame on his RFA situation. he knew this was coming and STILL got them and he STILL extended bieksa with a full NMC again knowing full well what was coming this summer.

people can say what they want, but the perron contract really irks me, i honestly thought he'd get either more money or a longer term. you never know if a free agent is going to fit your team, but we already knew he did the fact that the perron people and the ducks people were talking means there was interest from both sides in a return.

the ducks loss of so many good players has caught up, the palmieri trade is just as indefensible now as it was then, murray just ****ing gave him away. you know what would have been nice? if he scored a bunch of goals for us last year, and if you have to trade him now so be it but then again i have to call ********, because murray gave hagelin a 4 year deal right away. i'm just rambling but his poor asset management has now become a significant issue, especially when you see all the forward talent he's let walk away

Going to give it another shot why not. Gonna pepper in some free agents, and make some typical Caryle style lines.

Pirri-Kesler-Versteeg
Cogliano-Gaustad-Silfverberg
Garbutt-Wagner-M.Brown

Fowler-Vatanen

Calm down, it's July 3. There's no way Noesen and Sgarbossa are just gonna be handed out roster spots without proving anything in camp. At this point even Corey Tropp should be ahead of them as he has proven more at the NHL level and can be a 4th line agitator. I can see him being the 13th/14th forward on opening night.

Do you guys think there is a chance with caryle that we use kesler line more offensively and maybe build a new shut down line with cheaper fa etc, something like

Getzlaf Perry Ritchie
Kesler silfverberg rakell

I mean I figure well sign a guy or 2 or get a top 6 winger in a trade.

That's why I think we have to move fowler and Stoner and get a cheap defenseman like Holzer. I love fowler but that frees up a good 7 million. If Montour lookz nhl ready halfway through the year then I wouldn't mind trading Depres for another forward.

July 3rd. Now that most ufa are gone, Murray can start having some firm conversations with teams needing defenseman.

It's clear 2 defenseman have to go, I assume one will be stoner and the other will be fowler / depress unless lindholm is totally unreasonable.

I think we'll add a winger and a center in those deals and we'll be fine.

Columbus, Vancouver, Carolina, Toronto, Buffalo, Winnipeg, Nashville, Philly, Detroit, Arizona...... and a lot more.

Couldn't possibly be any more exaggeration in this thread. The team has the same D and goalie that was 1st in the NHL last season.

Their forward group isn't elite, but it's the farthest thing away from bottom 5 I can possibly express. They just need 1-2 top 6 wingers to shift the depth chart and every thing looks much brighter

A mere 1-2 top 6 wingers, without altering the "same D and goalie that was first in the NHL last season." Simple. Top 6 wingers are just littering the side of the road.

I feel bad for Carlyle, he's going to be compared with BB yet the roster we will be icing at this stage isn't even close to as good as last years roster.

I hope they do. I'd like another shutdown line, and let 2nd line try to bring more offense. But it needs good role players on the shutdown line.
