So I counted 14 back to backs. That seems very high. I know we had the most back to backs last season, did we repeat?

Crikeys! We could be 0-7 ( I misread the chart-counted pre-season I thought it could be 0-11). There are no easy games in October.

Yeah, having the California Road Trip at the start of the season is a little worrisome.

But, hey, home game on my birthday. w00t. :)

Horrendous schedule but hey, we should be used to it by now.

I don't see anyway we avoid another slow start this season.

I believe the NHL asks teams what they want - lot of home weekend games or a more balanced schedule. Since our attendance suffers during week we usually always get more weekend games which leads to a lot of back to backs.
So it's not the league screwing us. It's us choosing weekend games to help attendance.

Pretty well however you arranged the schedule we would be in trouble, It's not like we could play Toronto and Edmonton 41 times each...

Feel much better about defensive potential.....could be a lot of 2-1 games.....but if the forwards dont have to spend 3/4s of their shifts trying to get it out of the defensive zone, they could be a pleasant suprise

3-5 after the first eight games would be a miracle....what a brutal opening first two weeks!!

about last summer.
The good thing is that they have a couple of games and then a stretch where they are off. I think a significant part of the problem last season was how heavily loaded the opening stretch was and they had no time to regroup. IIRC it was practically a game every other day.

Looking it up: October 9, 10, 12, 14, 16, 17, 20, 22, 24

Agreed. Werenski will strengthen that group. But, man alive the forwards better pass better then they did last season

19 back-to-backs and 15 3-in-4's.

The schedule is incredibly front-loaded on '16 playoff teams in the front end, and lottery teams on the back end. Same script as the last couple years? Probably.

We led the league in back-to-back's the last two years. This isn't a surprise. The NHL bones us.

Also...what in the actual **** is that Cali road trip?? L.A., day off, San Jose, then immediately back to Anaheim??? Are the schedule makers high?? (I realize they usually **** up that road trip, but they finally got it right last year putting the back-to-back's in L.A.)
