Here's a Buffalo-centric index of what the scouts have been up to leading into the 2015 trade deadline. In the tables below are the team scouts who have been listed in attendance at Sabres games over the past four weeks and then also where the Sabres scouts have been spotted.

If you know of a blog, article, or tweet to add, post it. I didn't bother to look for trends (most are probably regulars or advanced scouting), so if you spot something after looking at the schedules, post that too. Try and keep the proposals and speculation in the main thread though.

The Sabres scouts in Sweden were probably looking at Olofsson.

Victor Olofsson is now playing overseas with Timra IK of SWE-1. He has two points – both goals – in four games with the team.

I notice we haven't scouted COL at all. Of course, that could be because TM doesn't need to scout ROR, but still, you'd think we'd be there looking at other pieces in case any deal got more complicated. I suppose any ROR deal would be over the summer, not before the deadline.

On the other hand, I also notice that we didn't scout WPG at all, so these reports may not tell us that much.

Also, it's funny that the teams we're scouting aren't mostly scouting us back.

For reference, the Sabres' next few opponents:

2/22 - Nashville
2/24 - Columbus
2/26 - Vancouver
2/28 - Florida
3/3 - Tampa
3/6 - Ottawa
3/7 - Washington
3/11 - Toronto

So if any of those teams' scouts show up at Sabres games, or Sabres scouts show up at their games (like Sabres scouts showing up at today's Nashville/Philly game), could very well just be a matter of advance scouting rather than anything more meaningful (also keep in mind teams sending scouts to Sabres games could be scouting Buffalo's opponent)

Like you said with ROR, Murray knew exactly what he was getting in Kane, and when Bogosian was added to the discussion I think it was a similar situation. Scouting the other way is much more likely because of the prospects involved.

Yep. Also, be mindful of the locals/regulars at home games, like Rick Dudley (MTL), Morey Gare (EDM), Peter Ratchuk (WPG), Ron Rolston (ARZ) and so on.

I hope their KHL scouts are taking a good long look at Burmistrov. Winnipeg reportedly wants to trade his rights. I wish Murray had found a way to get him in the Kane trade.

Trend: CAR, MTL, WPG have been at our last three games, including one on the road. One of the games may have been advanced scouting by CAR (play PHI on 24 Feb) and WPG (play NSH on 7 Mar) respectively.

Also, I believe the other locals/regulars at FNC are Adam Creighton (BOS), Don Lever (CHI), Don Luce (PHI), and Terry Martin (COL).

I find it strange that WPG has had scouts at almost every game since the Myers trade. Maybe they want to make another deal?
