Provorov AINEC IMO. I'd take him at 3, possibly even over Eichel. Was super high on him pre draft and now he just looks destined to be a franchise #1D. Super jealous of Philly.

This is a phenomenal draft. The fact is op hasn't even added Markus Nuutivaara who's played two full seasons, hasn't added Travis Dermot, Vince Dunn, Anthony Cirelli, Brandon Guhle, Dennis Malgin, Sami Niku, Noah Juulsen, Filip Chlapik, Ethan Bear, Gabriel Carlsson, Troy Terry and so on.

Just shows the depth of this draft. Unreal.

When the leafs took marner at 4 they had very little centre depth. We had bozak and kadri with nylander in the ahl. I think the hope was that marner could become a centre at the nhl level. Now if they had known they were going to get matthews the next year I wonder if they would've chosen provorov or werenski instead

You already had Rielly developing into a top pairing LHD. Both of them are left shots, tough to say really, unless the scouts thought Provorov or Werenski end up far better.

Building a D-core around Reilly and Provorov would be pretty nasty, I think it would be a no brainer that Shanny + Dubas would take Provorov over Marner today.
