Sitting at a desk.
I get Dermott but no reason Carlo should be ahead of Vince Dunn.

Agreed, I have Dermott - Dunn - Nuti - Carlo, in that order. Unless Carlo can show some offensive upside, his career peak is looking like Tanev. Not a bad player to have but I am not a fan of having offensive black holes on the ice.

Dunn. Pretty confident he'll have the better career than Dermott so don't care what this poll says.

Carlo and Dermott are equal defensively but Dermott has offensive upside.

Only 17 defenseman in the NHL have averaged more PK minutes than Carlo over his 1st two seasons in the league (at the age of 19-21). The Bruins have the 1st and 3rd best PK in the league over that two year span. He's averaging over 20 minutes a game for his career. Virtually every minute in the Bruins top-4 and/or the shutdown pairing with Chara. The amount of responsibility that has been put on his shoulders for an extended period of time far outweighs what lot of others on the list are doing, especially when it comes to the defensive side of the puck.

He's never going to be a PP guy. I also don't think it's fair to call him a black hole when he skates so damn well and makes a pretty good first pass. His rookie season was promising with 6 goals/16 points (of course none on the PP). It will be interesting to see when he is at this upcoming season. Development isn't always linear. I've always seen him morphing into something along the line of prime Seidenberg/Hjalmersson.

To my knowledge, none of the defensemen being discussed has the upside and overall package Phil Myers possesses. He just has to stay healthy.

Don’t think people are going to be convinced. They see more points in easier minutes. I think al the folks in Boston land understand that Carlo has performed well a minute muncher as a 19/20 year old and is on the verge of breaking out.
