Players who were actually drafted in the top 18 but not in our re draft:
(Brackets is actual draft position)

-Zacha (6)
-Meier (9)
-Crouse (11)
-Gurianov (12)
-Zboril (13)
-Senyshyn (15)

At number 19 was Evgeny Svechnikov who isn't even an option yet.

A couple misses early on. Ducks those teams missed out on some good players

Its like Stuart Percy again. Its pretty hard to assume success at lower levels or small sample sizes translate into NHL success especially compared to guys already doing it at the NHL and doing it well.
If these players were drafted by different teams polls would look a lot different. There are already 20 goal scorers, 20 minute defensemen, 2nd pair defensemen with 7 goals in 61 games with little to no PP time but yeah the prospects are likely better. I can see the slight on Carlo as defensive D never get a ton of credit, Columbus has their own in Russia that is playing great in that league but will likely never earn big hype when he comes over because like Carlo there isnt a lot of offense

TIL that the guy who's played a half a season with amazing shot attempt stats is just a prospect who's not better than all the guys who have proven it at the NHL level, and despite playing over triple the games this season than Percy has in his entire career he's the next Stuart Percy. Sure you'd rather not call him th next Matt Finn instead?

Guess I missed the complaints about "prospects" with 30+ NHL games being voted in when Roslovic was voted.

Can't wait to see How Dermott should rank on all the prospect lists he seems to be randomly missing from

the Percy comparisn wasnt a skill based one, Dermott is clearly superior but I dont get how a prospect with a small sample size and similar upside is rated above everyday NHLers. Its not like the guys in the NHL are just holding down bottom pair or 4th line spots, there are 20 goal scorers and top 4 D still available but for some its hard to look past the crest on the front of the jersey

These NHLers you keep referring to have mostly played just 1 season, Dermott has played a half a one. It's not like we're comparing Johnsson to Marchand here. They have similar experience with fairly similar great results. Dunn, Carlo, Dermott, Nutivaara all are very close. I could see people having an issue for someone giving Dermott votes back when Chabot was on the board, but this is around where he should be going.

Can you show me where you complained about this when Roslovic was voted in? Sinc Dermott has played more games I assume you had an issue with that as well?

wasnt online and didnt join this series of polls until #18. But yes Meier should be ahead of Roslovic. I dont know if its the potential to be a center or what got him voted in, im actually going to go read that poll now

So did you complain about it last poll with Kaprizov? He hasn't even played a game in NA yet.

Comparing across all positions is tough, but I wouldn't trade Dermott for Meier or anyone else on the board.... Tear me apart all you want, but Dermott played exceptionally well through half a seasonal in the NHL, after proving he was too good for the AHL.

I never voted for him in that poll but the difference is fans from all over voted him up as he likely has the highest potential for where he was picked. Im not quite as high on him as others but i somewhat understand it, its not skill or stage of development keeping him out of the league its his own choice to play in Russia

I'll just stop you there, because we've seen this movie before. If you follow young players entering the league for long enough you'll see guys starting on third pair who rack up nice shot stats in half a year and then fail to develop into stud defenders. Some turn out great, some don't. It's really hard to tell. We have a much stronger sense with Nutivaara, who also has stellar stats, just in a longer sample.

Meier and then Dunn, easily.

Dermott should not have this many votes lol. He played 37 games.
