Kaprizov has the most potential, sure, but this is a redraft, not a talent ranking. There's still a decent chance he never comes over (at least not for the team that drafted him) and even if he does it'll still be years after other players available have joined their teams and made impacts.

Kaprizov is the best player, but I wouldn't draft him yet. He hasn't come over, and might never.

Voted Nutivaara (the player everyone keeps forgetting about). I could see Meier maybe going ahead of Nuti, and Niku is very intriguing. But not Carlo or Dermott. Dermott is at least close but there isn't a part of the game where has an edge on Nuti.

I'd take a chance with Kaprizov. His skill level is too high to pass on, even if it takes him another year or two to come over.

If with that chance, I’d still take him around 12.

Meier, Dermott, Kaprizov, Myers and Carlo should be the next 5 and maybe Niku too.

Nuti is very easily the best defenseman currently but I guess the only arguement you could make against him is he is a couple years older than the rest. That said people are comparing a good AHL season to a good NHL season and great WC which is hilarious

Do we factor in that Nutivaara is 3 years older than all the players listed? That he should actually be in a 2012 redraft?

What do Dermott, Carlo, Dunn etc. look like with another 3 years of development?

Carlo has averaged just over 20 minutes per game at the age of 19/20 in his first two seasons in the Bruins top-4. He's played an important legit NHL role for two full seasons and isn't even voted in yet.....

It just goes to show that development isnt linear. Nutivaara went from an afterthought to a top 4 defenseman and like the rest I dont think we've seen his best either

Homer voting Dermott and I don't feel the least bit bad about it. I'd take the other defenders like Dunn and Carlo over the next few picks.
