Team Canada head coach Kevin Dineen has had a varied 2013-14 season, having taken the Canadian women's team to a gold medal at the 2014 Winter Olympics while also guiding Canada to a bronze medal at the 2014 IIHF U18 World Championship.
Dineen, a former NHL player and coach, led his charges at the U18 to the best record during the preliminary round, seemingly putting Canada in a good position to at least compete for the gold medal. But the Czech Republic had other plans, defeating Canada in the semi-finals, 4-3, sending the Canadians to the bronze medal game.
