Prospect Info: 2014 Prospect Ranking Poll #9

From the last poll:Theodore takes #8, apparently by divine right.

Each poll be open for 48 hours. If it's not close after 24 hours, I'll call it. If it is, it'll go the full 48. In the event of a tie after 48 hours, a 24-hour runoff will be held. The winner will get the open spot; the loser will go back into the pool, not get the next-lowest rank. The poll will go up to #25. Players are in the poll on the basis of HF's prospect criteria. Essentially, skaters with less than 65 games before the season of their 24th birthday, or goalies with less than 45 games before the season of their 24th birthday, are considered prospects. There are some nuances with respect to older-signed players, but I believe that applies only to Farragher and Andersen, who can remain a prospect for a bit yet.

Vote on players using whatever criteria you like. This isn't the readiness poll or the talent poll or the most-likely-to-be-best poll per se, it's just a survey of who we as Duck fans like.

Even though I voted for MP last round, I went with Noeson. His injury really hurt his development but from what I heard when he came back was promising. I think we'll fall in love with him this year, and leads Norfolk in scoring.

Couldn't really decide...no one really stands out in that group IMO. Went with Montour.

I like Manson a lot, but I think he'll need a year before he starts dominating the 'A'. His future is pretty bright, but he needs to work out some of that decision making.

What makes you think we're voting for him simply because of his draft spot? He put up pretty good numbers in Plymouth, plus he has a pretty impressive skill set.
While I think that I saw an NHL player in his days with Plymouth, I agree with Spicy that if he were drafted later he wouldn't be getting the respect that he is here. I'll add that it's okay to vote otherwise, but I do feel he's getting a slight bump from the reach that Ottawa made.

The Ducks scouting staff were going to make the same reach since he was the guy they wanted at 22 which is why they traded down. I acknowledge that him losing a whole year basically hurts him but he was highly regarded a year ago. Barring any minor league vets we might pick I feel Noesen is probably among our first call-ups this year among wingers.

They may have been willing to make that reach back then, but would they now? I'm not sure of that and no one should use that to approximate where he falls here. I never said he should be lower because he was injured. He looked like he was going to make a full recovery in the few game he played at year's end. I was judging that off of what I saw in the American league and with Plymouth, not his injury history.
