They have the arena, fan base, money and will definitely have the team. Don't see how it could be any other choice

They've already sold like 7000 tickets packages.

Here's hoping Domi, Horvat and Zadorov are all back. This team could be better than the 04 Mem cup champions

Ottawa has a much bigger market, arena, and supports both an NHL team and two CHL teams. By that measure, being 5x smaller than Toronto, they are actually the best hockey fans in Canada.

It just isn't right that there have only been two OHL hosts since London last hosted in 2005.

Ottawa's team will be garbage next year, it would be joke to have them represent the Ohl. And nice troll attempt on the Ottawa fans, not even the best fans in Ontario

Good. Better than some trash team hosting that doesn't belong.

How do they determine the other OHL representitive if London wins again next year? Do the finalists just go as well in that case?

Well, who are the best fans in Ontario? And what criteria do you use to make the determination?

They aren't just the best hockey fans in Ontario, they're the best in Canada.

The NHL arena in Ottawa is in a horrible location with insufficient transport access. It takes dedication to put up with that commute 40 times per year. Once is bad enough. It's no softy to get to like the ACC or the Bell Centre in Montreal. Ottawa's a city full of Leafs and Habs fans since the team was only reborn in the 90's, and they still manage to cultivate enough Sens fans to get by.

The 67's rink is or at least was a dump a few years ago (not sure if they're part of a Lansdowne makeover). The Bob over in Gatineau is worse. And yet support them they do.

Ottawa doesn't support football (CFL team died, coming back), baseball (Lynx demoted), or lacrosse (NLL team died) particularly well. But no one supports hockey better. They aren't just NHL-only like a Montreal either (which is littered with the dead corpses of CHL teams). One NHL team with a rink in a horrible location and 2 CHL teams that play (or played) in dumps. No other market supports that with 5x less population than Toronto.

So basically because Ottawa puts up with the most amount of crap, makes them the best fans in Canada!? Sounds like they should be nominated for stupidest fans in Canada if you ask me. :shakehead

when you sell 7000 tickets in a rink that holds 9800 for an event that is 14 months away thats how we got it again. This year is crazy no one is even there!

Fourth highest attendance total for a Memorial Cup.

Attendance at the final: 11,488 (also 4th highest ever, I believe)

There were a ton of people there and there was buzz all around the city, according to friends who were there.

London can only dream of seating 11000+.

Hoping Victoria would get the chance to host.

Would be nice to see a good team build around Hodges and Nelson here in Vic.

Oh well.

Will be interesting to see if the Royals can steal the 2016 bid away from Vancouver. The Giants aren't keeping it a secret that they want it.
