Edmonton Oil Kings’ center Brett Pollock has rocketed up the draft charts in half a season — and he’s hoping that getting going in this year’s MasterCard Memorial Cup Tournament will help him gain even more notice.



“I was a little shocked to see that I jumped up that much, but I’m happy with my game and how I’ve been playing,” he explained. “I think the first two games of this tournament weren’t my best, but I’ve been getting better each game and I hope that continues on the next couple of days.”

Pollock said there was no smoke and mirrors behind his ascension from 71 at the midterm to 34 in NHL Central Scouting’s final rankings for the 2014 NHL Draft.… read more
