Have a feeling Valiev will be one of the biggest jumpers next year.

Carrick needs some love. He may not be the shiny top ender, but he was frequently the best player on the ice for the Marlies last year. Complete player.

Carrick is the type of grunt player Carlyle loves - he'll get a chance before some of these flashy hair guys do.

Voted Nilsson, but was torn between him and McKegg who has developed wonderfully for a third rounder.

Put Kozun on the list next.

Also, shouldn't Kenny Ryan not be there? I believe he wasn't brought back.

Why not Valiev at this point?

Everyone keeps talking about choosing based on future upside as opposed to NHL readiness.

When I read about his game and attributes he really sounds like a gem to me.

He's really raw and hard to read at this point. I think he'll definitely jump up the rankings next year.

I’m not sure of his upside at all, but McKegg has showed the exact type of progress you’d like from a prospect. This past year he doubled his AHL totals from his rookie year, and I’d expect a big year from him this year.

He could still be something. After Kegger should be Nilsson and Loov, both of which are very promising as well.

Good job on this list, guys.

Those top-9 are definitely our top 9, though you could quibble about the order a bit.

Ashton is justified as #10 but that spot could easily go the likes of carrick, mckegg, loov, nilsson, sparks, or bibeau, too. Really hard to rank the next 6 or 7 guys.
