100% that Sweden will take the gold medal
Too bad it had to be done with 4 extra players in black & white though. But what's good is that this tournament doesn't really mean ****.

I'm astonished hockey fans are actually blaming the refs today. Finland has been on their heels and chasing the play the majority of the game. When Sweden is controlling the play of course they will draw more penalties. Look at that, the refs didn't call a penalty against Finland there. It's not a conspiracy. Stop ruining the thread with your tinfoil hat nonsense.

It's funny, the same fans complaining about the officiating today were making fun of the Canadians yesterday for doing the exact same thing.

Finland play a very defensive turtle system in their own zone after gaining a lead, that's a recipe for taking penalties. Don't blame the refs for turtling it up in your own zone.

(Yes, one of those calls wasnt a penalty, but refs always make at least 1 call each game, NHL, IIHF or SEL)

This. The complaining is among the saddest I've seen.

Most of these calls were perfectly correct, and the ref has even missed a few possible others.

A defensively playing team always takes more penalties.

Watched about 3 minutes of the game. Came in to see Finland defending it's fourth straight penalty and, when they had successfully done that, got another one for a very dubious call which, of course, led to the tying goal. Turned it off and now I don't care.

Sweden is in finland's zone who chases the puck...now and then they commit a foul play. Be pissed on players who don't spend more time in Swedish zone.

The Refs almost handed the game to the Finns early in the game by completely ignoring a blatant and violent elbow to Collberg's face. Should have been 5+10

Wake up. It's okay if you lose "being dominated for three periods". What these referees are doing FOR Sweden, is NOT okay.

Meh. What the referees did FOR Finland yesterday was NOT okay; however, that didn't appear to matter. The officiating has been slanted all tournament, why would anyone expect this game to be any different? I actually want FINLAND to win this game, but I'm not surprised one bit about what's transpired.

Anyone who claims those calls were legit and deserved are not hockey people, its cool to root for a team, but dont take it too far

The kneeing call was wrong and the holding penalty was quite iffy as well. But the latter 2 penalties were legit, stop crying.

Logic:yo:
Without the first two wrong calls the right calls would never have come.

Now FInland doesn't have a lead to defend anymore. So they have to start playing again.
When you're focused on defending 90% of the game, the opposing team is of course gonna move their skates and make efforts to equalise. The defending team might have a hard time catching up with this, therefore they will eventually get penalties.

Sure, they have been playing solid Kazakstan trench defense in their own zone. But you're not getting any calls if you don't have the puck. Hence 5 straight penalties against.
You're not getting the puck if the refs make up calls to keep you on the PK...

Some of them were questionable.

Could you say you've been happy with the officiating all tournament?

If that Finnish player had any hockey IQ he'd try to draw a penalty. Just keep the puck, cut to the net on your edges and when you get touched, fall down.

Sure. But I hate seeing fellow finns going "WTF REFS1!1!" even if they make the right call, like they did after those 2 bad ones.
