Scanning some HF archives of rankings, it's pretty interesting to pick out some unheralded players that became gems.

9. Wisniewski
11. Bolland
19. Keith

So as nice as it is to have some pretty strong prospects in the top five, it's interesting to speculate which of the later guys will turn into something (and which of the big four/five will totally bust). Maybe there is yet hope for Michael Parks. :sarcasm:

Keith listed at 5'11", 176, too small to be in the NHL right away... Sounds familiar.

People need to stop getting my hopes up.

Can someone inform me on parks and what people seem to see in him?? He is one guy I literally know nothing about

It's a joke. He's a depth player at best.

Actually if he goes back to school next year we lose his rights next summer & he'll be free to sign anywhere he wants. Although I don't think the interest will be all that high so it might not even matter.

I said it before, but Ghost looked to be about the same height as Hagg in that picture of the 4 D prospects. I don't think his height is an issue, it's his weight and strength that need to improve.

That's what I thought too, I'm thinking ghost is more pushing 6 feet, and hagg is maybe 6'1

Look at the wall in the picture, sure the camera isn't being held straight but it also looks like the person taking the photograph is standing off center a bit and is thus creating a bit of an optical illusion. Also Ghost could be an inch or so closer to the camera man also effecting their relative heights in the pic. Ghost may have grown but he's not over 6' (everyone is making a deal about his height I'm sure if he hit 6' someone would have said something) and Hagg may be a bit under 6'2". Point is you can't go by pictures.

Yeah, I considered that and that's why I just said he "looked" like he was close in height, hard to tell much from a picture. I'm still not too worried about his height though, as long as he gets stronger it shouldn't be too big of an issue.

Any way you slice it, having prospects with upside like Friedman, Lindblom, and Cousins outside your top 10 is not a bad spot to be in
Meh... most other teams have better depth. #11 onward looks bleak.

Voted Cousins despite a poor first pro season. Let's give Friedman and Lindblom some time before getting excited about them. There's a reason they fell as far as they did.
Cousins had a pretty rough first season as a pro last year which makes it hard to believe he can be more than a 4th liner in the NHL at this point. He is a Flyers brand of character guy though and may still get his chance to break the lineup.
He's the kind of guy who won't take "no" for an answer. I could see him forcing himself into the lineup.

Eh. Being average in everything wont get you a roster spot. He needs to increase in all categories to get a spot. Saying "no" wont get him crap.

It might take a year or two, but if there's a hole in the lineup, Cousins may poke in when you least expect it. If he learns how to penetrate a pro defense, he'll violate goalies and explode in the minors.
