Great news that Marty is in. And those of you who don't like it - dont get too angry, you are still the odds on favorite and this choice is not harming your chance to win in any way...In other words, the impact is not nearly as big as the Czech decision to leave Hudler home and take Erat instead.

Curse Crosby for conspiring to keep Giroux off the team. Reminds me of when Gretzky did the very same thing to Yzerman in 1991.

Yesssssssssssssssssssssssssssss!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you Yzerman for making the right call. I know he obviously wanted to take him before and I almost couldn't believe he was left off the team. With the way Olympic hockey is played his game is going to be at it's best. In an interview recently he mentioned his speed and quickness will be the biggest factor and I couldn't agree more.

Crosby + Kunitz + St. Louis .. would be incredible! Sharp would also work in a pinch but I think they want to keep him with Toews.

Team Canada would be smart to swap St. Louis and Nash in that line up.

I wonder how Marty would do on Sids line?

I don't think Marty will play on Syd's line, they will slot Carter in there. St.Louis shoots left as do Kunitz and Crosby and Carter's a pure sniper.

PROBABLE LINES
Kunitz(L)-Crosby(L)-Carter(R)
Nash(L)-Getzlaf(R)-Perry(R)
Tavares(L)-Toews(L)-Sharp(R)
Marleau(L)-Bergeron(R)-St-Louis(L)
Duchene(L)-Benn(L)

I'd like to see:
Kunitz-Crosby-Tavares
Nash-Getzlaf-Perry
St.Louis-Toews-Sharp
Benn-Bergeron-Carter
Marleau-Duchene

Not only does Tavares have the most points on this team since 2011-2012 (192) but he has the most goals (82). Him and Crosby together would be sick on big ice.

Marty shoots left but is a right winger through and through. Some of the best lines in the league the past few years have had the same handedness.
Sedin Sedin Burrows all lefts
Perry Getzlaf Ryan all rights

I'd rather have St louis on that right side than Tavares. That's for sure.

I was looking for Carter's point totals...then realized why I didn't see him. He is on page 2 the Canadian top point getters...tied with Scott Hartnell for 42nd place. Of course Rick Nash is 83rd!!!!!!!! Tyler Bozak has 2 more points than Nash in 6 less games. Let that sink in for a second.

Yeah I agree. Boz' should be on there, he's producing better and his defensive play is elite.

Good thing these upcoming Olympics hockey games are not an all-star game then.

1) How many times have we heard Canadian fans complain that they picked too many centers that are forced to play out of position? That has been addressed.

2) Canada will have to kill penalties against elite PP units. They selected forwards who have demonstrated an ability to play the PK successfully (and you need 4-6 of them).

3) Babcock asked for a versatile line-up full of players that can skate and play a 200ft game. They addressed as best as possible.

This means that the top-14 scoring forwards for Canada will not be selected. Other factors must be considered and none of these decisions have been made lightly.

Kunitz-Crosby-St.Louis
Sharp-Toews-Nash
Tavares-Getzlaf-Perry
Benn-Bergeron-Carter
Marleau, Duchene

Could go any way seriously impossible to predict. So many combos would work. I like Benn alot better than Marleau so I hope he's the one who plays more. If Kunitz doesn't produce early on I hope they sit him. It's weird that the individually worst player on the roster is on the 1st line. But being with Crosby makes any player go super saiyan.

Kunitz/Duchene- Crosby- Carter
Benn- Tavares- St. Louis
Sharp- Toews- Nash
Marleau- Getzlaf- Perry
Bergeron

This is how I see it. People have to realize that Tavares is, in all likelihood, going to play center on this team. I'm also interested to see how Kunitz performs against top competition, beginning with the Finland game. He'll start on Crosby's wing, but I don't think he ends up there when all is said and done. Duchene would, IMO, be a good fit with Crosby.

Happy for St Louis but I really feel like James Neal suited this team better. Would like to have seen the lines something like:

Kunitz - Crosby - Tavares
Sharp - Toews - Nash
Perry - Getzlaf - Neal
Duchene - Bergeron - Carter
Marleau/Benn

If Crosby can turn on his shooter mentality, St.louis with him is going to be very dangerous. If not slot Carter or Marleau up to the 1st line, St.louis can fit anywhere in the top-3 lines.

Kunitz-Crosby-St.louis
Benn-Tavares-Marleau
Duchene-Getzlaf-Perry
Nash-Toews-Sharp
Bergeron-Carter

I like Nash in the checking role like he was in 2010 where he excelled.
Possible RW'ers for Sid: MSL, Carter, Duchene.

Theres also a possibility that Tavares gets moved there and you move Bergeron in at 4th line C but i wouldn't start out that way. Let Tavares play his natural position.

Olympic Hockey Pool, I have 3 offensive positions towards Canada.

1. Crosby
2. Toews
3. Getzlaf/Tavares

I cannot decide on the 3rd.

Getzlaf or Tavares????? I'd like goals since I feel Crosby/Toews may give me a little more on the assist side.
