Early on at the 2013 U18 World Junior Championship, it looked as though Team USA might not have enough to make a run at a fifth consecutive gold medal at this tournament. But the team has come together as the U18 has progressed and, after a wild, 4-3 shootout win over host Russia in the semi-finals, the USA will in fact do battle for another gold medal.
The USA's opponent this time around is Canada, who have been the best defensive team at this U18. The Americans probably lack some of the star power of their prior gold medal teams, so they'll likely need to bring their best effort of this tournament to take home yet another golden prize.… read more
