I'd probably cry if the Ducks wasted this year and only got a 20th or lower pick. Not exactly, but I'd be seriously bummed.

And 20th isn't bad either. Duclair or Rychel would be cool. De La Rose and everyone else? ehhhhhhh.

-Boston wouldn't pick a goalie in the 1st after landing Subban last year.

-Why did you put Fasching in the 1st? Hasn't really played. Would love to hear your reasoning (I know gulchenyuk and rielly didn't either... just curious to your reasons.)

-Not that high on Erne? I see him top 15 easily at this point.

-Shinkaruk would be stoked to go to his favourite team growing up.

-I would be jumping for joy landing a number 1 C in Barkov....

interesting list for sure.

I'm not gonna lie but for the last 8-10 picks I didn't really know a whole lot about the prospects so I did those based on the current standing of those players.

As for Erne I think he'll jump up but I thought that's where he fit as of now.

The Ducks are one team I wish gets to select in the top 10! Especially if they lose any of Ryan, Corey, or Bobby in free agency!

Me too. If the season starts back up I'm gonna be real torn on whether I want them to do well or not. If they do poorly enough, they can potentially get a super star quality forward. But doing poorly enough could cause Perry to leave.

im pretty sure the sens dont need another winger but you nailed it that we need a playmaker. we need an elite play maker because most of our top prospects are either snipers two-way or power forwards.

I like Lazar but as a Toronto Fan I'd be pissed dropping out of the Top5.

Imma get this comment over with already.. No way Toronto takes Jones. After taking Rielly last year, they need to take a center this year..

Toronto either takes Barkov 2nd, or trades with Philly for the 3rd pick. Philly needs defence more than anything right now, so Jones would be perfect.

I'd say the 3rd pick (with agreement to not take Barkov) and a 5th rounder would do it. Both Toronto and Philly get what they need, with Toronto getting a little extra for helping.

I would agree, but that's what Leaf fan's said last year... something like "After the emergence of Gardiner, we don't need another defencemen... Burke will grab one of the forwards" or "We have an abundance of D prospects, we need one of the top forwards".

I feel if the leafs have the #2 overall and Burke has the rankings as: Mackinnon, Jones, Barkov, etc. he will either trade up for Mackinnon or not move and take Jones... Whether I disagree or agree, that seems like what Burke will do

I'm really starting to like what I've been hearing about Barkov though, kid seems like he might end up going #2 overall.

Any one of the top 6 and I'm a happy camper as a Leaf's fan (Mackinnon, Jones, Barkov, Lindholm, Drouin, Monahan)

I agree on this 10000000%. This is my favourite draft within the past 5 years.. mainly because i'm from Halifax, so the focus is kinda on us ;) But in saying that, despite us having Fucale, Drouin, and MacKinnon.. Barkov is actually my favourite player in this draft. He has been since the "future rankings" came out during last year.. I don't know what it is about him, but I feel like he's going to be the best player from this year.. and I would LOVE LOVE LOVE for him to wear the blue/white Maple Leaf on his chest.

Barkov is my choice in this draft. The kid is a stud. If we end up in the 12 to 16 range though I hope we pick up Zadorov. Kid is massive and would be nice on our D.

Lazar and Burakowsky are a little bit high.

Lehkonen is way too low!

Buchnevich and Fasching are only 2nd round players in my opinion, I would swap them with Carrier and Dickinson.

Otherwise well done and i really like the Pens getting Drouin at #5

Cbus needs two top 5 picks and all three in the top`

fifteen. I honestly feel like if we could get that we probably wouldn't **** it up. We need top six talent. Total makeover of the top six & we need a goalie, hoping Bob comes through there for us.

Our blueline potential actually looks promising at this stage

^i'm all for the Jackets taking 3 forwards with their 1st round picks, but if a d-man like Morrissey is still there, you gotta take him. average size, but i hear he's a smooth skater, defensively sound, and has a great offensive upside! the Jackets are pretty stacked at the back end but getting a potential #1 d-man at #13 would be hard to pass up. all depends on where the chips fall lottery wise for the Jackets and which players get chosen where i suppose.

don't forget the Jackets have a high 2nd round choice coming their way and if they miss out on a goalie like Zack Fucale, there is also highly regarded goalies like Spencer Martin, Eric Comrie, Marcus Hogberg and Tristan Jarry still available.

In a lottery/lockout the draft 'snakes' or at least it did in 2005.

The Jackets do need a goalie, but you don't draft a goalie when you need one, because they are typically 5 years away from actually helping you. They were smart to add a youn netminder in Bobrovsky, now they need to find a diamond in the rough in a later round draft pick or AHL/European league free agent.
