Really looking forward to this. Russia should be pretty stacked especially if they get a few guys from CHL. Nichushkin and Buchnevich should dominate this one.

I don't think they had their best at IH. Nichushkin among quiet a few others weren't there.

Anyway, for this tournament Russia will actually have some decent coaching with Igor Kravchuk. He doesn't even have to be a good coach, but we know he isn't corrupt like so many in the recent past and it should help the team a lot. Truly best of the best available should get picked.

and "most important", look at goalie Shestyorkin... what a play-off!

A lot of guys will be missing, especially on D.

Gatineau and Victoriaville are still in QMJHL play-offs so Reway and Rehák are questionable. Similar for Peter Cehlárik whose Luea is still playing in SEL play-offs.

Koys and Torok are out for this year. Weakness. And i must say, that Reway or Cehlarik are players as Nichuskin... ;)
Very good Mikolas and Okolicany... Rosandic, Cernak are top in defense...

With luck, semi-final is real. But, ....

I would like to agree but can not. Reway or Cehlarik are not even close to Nichuskin. KHL is better level than CHL/Elitserien. Nichuskin plays big role in KHL PO, Cehlarik only a few minutes. Reway plays just junior hockey

Interesting discussion with @KravchukIgor, Nichuskin to play KHL PO or camp of U18?

Yes, Nicuskin is best but Reway, Cehlarik ... Nicuskin are Top Level players... And is matter what league plays...

Any reason why I don't see (F) Valentin Zykov and D (Zadorov) on the list of invitees for U18. It can't be that their teams are still playing in the PO, as Vorobeev (Portland WHL is still playing and his name is on the list. Or am I not looking at the right list? Anybody got any info on them. Unlikely that Zadorov becomes available anyway, as London I would imagine will be playing until end of May.

Kravchuk clearly stated he doesn'r know what players from NA will be available. It's just a preliminary list.

Thanks for the update, I don't follow word for word what Kravchuk says, I just saw the list posted on the fhr website and wondered why those names were not there. Just wondering if there is an attempt to strike some kind of balance between those players playing in N.A. leagues and the MHL.

I'm pretty convinced that he is aiming at having the best players (in his opinion), regardless of the league.

This is not really a preliminary roster for Germany but the latest roster I could find.
I hope and think, that Leon Draisaitl and Dominik Kahun will join this team. Their addition would make it one of the strongest German teams in years.

For German standards this should be a pretty good team, with a lot of interesting players, like Orendorz, Bender, Möser, Eisenschmid, Sedlar, Shevyrin oder Tuomie.
Also goalies Kevin Reich and Hannibal Weitzmann should be able to provide the team with much needed solid goaltending.
