Thought it might be fun to get everyone on the record by answering the following questions:

1. When will the lockout be settled?

This week. I think we have a deal by Saturday and we drop the puck by the 3rd week of January.

2. What will the Bruins do with Tim Thomas? (Be as specific as possible.)

Nothing. The cap will be $70 million. Our team is locked in and just under. The money required to make any moves could be available by placing Savvy on LTIR. No use using the buyout on a guy who's contract expires in a few months.

3. Which player will be the most pleasant surprise?

Tuukka Rask. He will stay healthy, grab the #1 role and run with it.

4. Which player will disappoint?

Jordan Caron. I think his time is running out. He is about to be passed on the "prospect" ladder by Knight and Spooner.

5. What will be the biggest surprise of the year? (Transaction, result, etc.)

The Vancouver Canucks have to fight tooth and nail with the Flames and Wild and barely win their division but get bounced (again) in the first round. They proceed to stand pat again and with their window closed, slowly slip into 7th in the West in 2013/14 and miss the playoffs entirely in 2014/15.

My answers:

1. January 8th.

2. Trade his rights to Dallas in exchange for a 4th round pick in 2014.

3. I know he's struggled in Providence, but should the lockout get settled, I think Jordan Caron makes the leap to become a regular on the 3rd line.

4. Despite the hype, I just don't think Dougie Hamilton's quite NHL ready. He'll get there, and he'll be very good... but I just don't see it yet.

5. McQuaid's injury and Hamilton's struggles will force Chiarelli to trade for Edmonton's Ryan Whitney.

1. January 6th

2. Nothing. Contract runs out and he moves on at the end of the year

3. Aaron Johnson ends up being a glue guy on D, or Zach trotman bullying his way into Boston and sticking.

4. Dougie Hamilton. He's a teenage defensemen. teenage defensemen almost always suck. He'll get better though

5. Andy ference gets traded for a 2nd round pick to the oilers. Nothing against Andy, but he went against Jacobs publicly and he probably wouldn't have been resigned anyway

1. When will the lockout be settled?

Jan. 7th agreement, followed by a ratification vote. Puck drops jan. 19th.

2. What will the Bruins do with Tim Thomas? (Be as specific as possible.)

They'll fail to trade him, and will end up doing nothing. He'll tease fans in mid-february by a FB post in which he hints at a return. But nothing ensues. He'll claimm he was misunderstood.

3. Which player will be the most pleasant surprise?

Anton Khudobin. He won't be the starter - Rask will be just fine - but Khudobin plays well enough to allay any fears about goaltending.

4. Which player will disappoint?

Milan Lucic. The extended layoff will hurt his game more than most, as he'll appear slow and lumbering for much of the shortened season.

5. What will be the biggest surprise of the year? (Transaction, result, etc.)[/QUOTE]

Tyler Seguin will threaten to win the Rocket Richard trophy.

1. Sometime in the Spring (March, perhaps April)

2. Let him walk, no point in using that buyout

3. Rask (Like as in, Vezina level Rask)

4. Lucic

5. Both the Islanders and Leafs make the playoffs

Suspend him

Peverly. Got a hunch he's going to have a career high season.

Horton. Will be difficult to adjust from concussion.

Yakupov will struggle mightily in Edmonton.

ESPN Boston has made three predictions.

1. The Bruins will trade David Krejci to Phoenix or Anaheim. If Phoenix, it will be for defenseman Keith Yandle; if Anaheim, it will be for winger Bobby Ryan.

2. Bruins trade Tim Thomas. If there is hockey this season, Thomas announces he will play and the Bruins trade him to Colorado in exchange for a prospect and third-round pick. If no season, the Bruins trade Thomas for a late-round pick.

3. Spooner Gets Promoted: Ryan Spooner takes Jordan Caron's spot on the Boston roster and Caron is eventually traded.

Use him 40% of the time this year

3. Which player will be the most pleasant surprise?
Is it a surprise when Bergeron leads the team in everything? I suppose it will be.

4. Which player will disappoint?
Andrew Ference will be our new whipping boy before long

5. What will be the biggest surprise of the year? (Transaction, result, etc.)
The gap Edmonton will put between them and the 2nd place team in their division. Here come the Oilers

1. When will the lockout be settled?
January 3rd or 4th

2. What will the Bruins do with Tim Thomas? (Be as specific as possible.)
Suspend him if he doesn't report to camp and then look at the possibility of trading him if they can get him to agree to play somewhere else.

3. Which player will be the most pleasant surprise?
Caron. Almost everyone here seems to expect to see him fail miserably, that won't happen. He will score at about a 15 goal per season rate while playing top notch defense and filling in very well when asked to move up in the lineup because of injury.

4. Which player will disappoint?
Hamilton. He will be much like Seguin, Kessel, Thornton in their first years. He won't be given a ton of ice time and at times he will be sat in tough situations and since it seems some people are expecting him to compete for the Calder trophy, he will disappoint those people.

5. What will be the biggest surprise of the year? (Transaction, result, etc.)
There will be a couple of big trades. One for a player that will remain with the team for a long time and one for a big name UFA to be.

Color me not surprised about Krejci. They hate him there and have a major holzer zelt for Yandle/Ryan :shakehead

Lockout ends: April
Thomas: bought out
Pleasant surprise: Dan Paille
Disappoint: Lucic
Biggest surprise: That we actually have a season.
